It's so nice to hear folks thoughts about Ken,he was in the same care home in Leith Edinburgh as my dad and I've been fortunate enough to have many conversations with him about his life,he was the most humble man I've ever met, when ever I would harp on about his many achievements he would always say"I'm just a guy from Edinburgh"and brush off any praise or adulation. I asked him about his very unusual style and rapier jab and was treated to a playful jab to the stomach (my wife couldn't believe her 55 year old husband was so happy to get a jab from the great man himself)he was still faster than me,to sum up ken Buchanan he was a fighting gentleman.......my wife's cousin Kevin gore has a song Ken Buchanan Edinburgh man well worth a listen. I'll miss talking to and the friendly handshakes of such a nice person who just happened to be one of my heroes I just wish I'd told him that when I had the chance.

I met Ken Buchanan before the Benn-Eubank return fight at Old Trafford. Ken was one my foremost boxing heroes and in my eyes, a legend. Your supposed to not meet your heroes but I'm glad I met him. I told him when I boxed as an amateur it was him I tried to copy which brought a big smile to his face. He was supposed to be cold, have a big chip on his shoulder and didn't like Jim Watt, but..... He was friendly, entertaining, and didn't dislike Watt at all. I liked Jim Watt, the man hqd loads of bottle but Buchanan was a one of the greatest ever at 135lbs.

Best display of boxing I've ever seen is Ken Buchanan Lightweight champion of the world vs Donato Puduano Welterweight contender at Madison Square Garden Buchanan's left jab was in Puduano's face all fight and his footwork was better than Fred Astaire. I think the judges were being kind to the Canadian and gave him 2 rounds but King Kenny won 9 of the 10. The Scot was an absolute genius at fighting off the ropes, one of the best I've ever seen.

R.I.P. Ken Buchanan. Former 4 time world champion Roberto Duran honored Ken Buchanan yesterday in an interview in his native Panama. Ken Buchanan will always be remembered in Panama because he defeated one of Panama's boxing legends, Ismael Laguna. Of course that he will be remembered the most by Panamanians when he fought Roberto Duran, who became Panama's and Latin America's greatest boxer of all time.
