In this case not as much balls as you'd think. The Chipmunks movies were seen as crap by mainstream Hollywood/critics and David Cross publicly said after the first film he only did it for the money and refused to come back for the fourth film so he had no reason to lie and say it was good.

@@majordbag2 yet everyone in the entire world watched the chipmunks... sure they were sh*tty, but i never knew a person who didnt know what The chipmunks movies were, except if they we're boomers aged 50+. So yeah no regrets for him. The chipmunks was featured in all cinemas in the world at some point

David got blacklisted for talking crap like this. He hardly worked for almost a decade until he appeared in Kung Fu Panda 3 and 8-Bit Christmas. People should treat their work with loyalty, dedication, and firmness and keep their issues about the working environment away from the public light.

Ian could have easily returned in Alvin and the Chipmunks 4: The Road Chip as one of Dave’s groomsman. The creators of Alvin and the Chipmunks wrote the role of Ian Hawke because they loved Arrested Development.

@@oklol7799 it’s because the movies itself are not terrible , the story isn’t that bad , the characters have decent arcs and the pacing is appropriate, there’s nothing bad or horrible , they are not funny but there aren’t awful jokes either

I'm 18 now and I loved Alvin and the chipmunks as a kid and the 3rd one in the cinemas was the last movie I watched with my pop before he died from cancer and I grew out of the movies after then I watched the 4th one just for him and as soon as I found out after that he wasn't in it I just gave completely up on the shit movies

I’m 18 now but these movies were my favourite as a kid but the third one always seemed pretty lacklustre compared to the first 2 and I only watched the 4th because of the nostalgia I had with the previous ones

Lol same, these 4 movies are all my guilty pleasure when i was a kid. I used to enjoy them when the critics were trashing on it. If i first saw Alvin movies when i'm an adult now, i would've hate it but since i first saw it as a kid, enjoyed them and have a massive nostalgia, i can't even hate them by rewatching it lol

Alvin And The Chipmunks 2: The Sqeakuel was unfortunately the first movie I ever saw in theatres. I have to give massive props to David Cross for carrying those movies though. He's genuinely a great comedian and I can't imagine how awful it must have been to star in those movies lol

Working for the Bagdasarians is one of those things that could RUIN a career... Working for them is a kiss od death... I heard that some on THE CHIPMUNK ADVENTURE were not paid for working on that film.... There were more problems with how The Bagdasarians treat those who work for them and with them... Not only are they disrespectful to the fans.. They are the same with those who work with and for them.....

I wonder why? David’s career has been reduced to TV appearances on TV shows and comedy tours since he publicly accused one of the producers of Alvin and the Chipmunks 3: Chipwrecked of being antisemitic for mistreating him 11 years ago on Conan. Today, Netflix and IFC haven’t offered David any TV roles that are longer than 4 to 6 episodes.
