The guy you see at 8:18 moving his both hands is Zulfi (Xulfi). He is the brains behind this song, all of Nescafe basement music and Coke Studio Season 14 songs. Just thought that you should know. Hope to see more reactions. 🙂

Hey Jim, that "scatting" is called "Sargam" (pronounced: sir-gum). The trick with Sargam (and why it's so impressive and difficult) is that it consists of seven notes of a scale, and each word the person is singing must correspond with the note as well as the pitch of that note in the scale they are in. Western Music: Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti. Asian Music: Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Da, Ni. So imagine someone just singing Do Re Mi, and the pitch for each note has to be right. At 06:10 in your video, you can hear her singing the actual notes (Ma, Pa, Da ... Ni, Pa) of the scale she is in. The faster you go, the more difficult it becomes. That's why that 'Raag' song by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan (Nobel Peace Prize) that you first reacted to is so impressive. Hope it helps :)

Hey Brother, From Ohio here. I am American and Pakistani, you gotta listen to Faasle by Kaavish and QB from Coke studio. Faasle literally means distance. The female single Quratulain Baloch who goes by QB as well has got an amazing voice. You have listened to her in Season 14.

This right here is my favorite song in the whole world. Nothing I've listened to before or since comes close. Kind of my life motto. I believe that these kinds of masterpieces only come once in a lifetime. Even the artists are not aware of the effects this song is capable of making!

She was 8 at this performance. The song is written by the same writer as Tu Jhoom who is the male singer in this song. Today Aug 14 is Independence Day of Pakistan.

This and songs like TU JHOOM is basically on the fringes of Sufi theology which focuses on introspection and finding the deeper meaning of life, to discover within oneself what one is blessed with and then using it to its true potential. These compositions and lyrics are meant to be listened to without breaks and let it transport you to another realm. Glad you enjoyed it and felt the vibes.

This is such a beautiful reaction. The girl was 7 or 8 years old when she recorded this song. It’s such a peaceful piece of music that forces one to contemplate upon one’s existence in this world. How many times do we actually stop and think about our purpose in life? The hustle and bustle of life takes such prophetic moments away from us usually. By the way, the lead singer who started off the song is Adnan Dhool (the lead vocalist of Soch the band). You did see him before in Coke Studio Season 14 song, Nerey Nerey Vas.. he’s also an awesome lyricist lending his creative pieces to many others artists all the time. But the credit for discovering the girl goes to Coke Studio 14’s music producer Xulfi, who is also the producer of this show. This show came before CS Season 14. He is an excellent musician and a genius artist. He has discovered so many undergoing artists in Pakistan over his career who are thriving and making great headways in music now. Basically building up Pakistan’s future generation of musicians 😊. Nescafé basement basically dealt with emerging artists and Coke Studio dealt with established artists. So that was the main difference between these shows. This song is truly a journey into self-reflection and finding peace within one self. I’m glad that you enjoyed it this much. Thanks for the awesome reaction 👍😊.

Adnan, the male vocalist, is also the song writer of TU JHOOM. His lyrics have always been very meaningful. I'd suggest one of his earlier performances on Nescafe Basement, UTH JAWANA. The lyrics are based around the social and economic commentary of the country. The song has one of the best intros and flute solos on Nescafe Basement. Thanks for your interest in Pakistani music, it's a great natural treasure!

The girl named Hadiya Hashmi is a phenomenal, was 7 years old when she performed. Nescafe basement is produced by Xulfi. Season 14 of Coke Studio is also produced by Xulfi. Unlike coke studio nesacfe basement does not have renowned artists. Its performed by armatures. Xulfi roams entire Pakistan and find young talents all accross the country. Xulfi is the Goldsmith of Pakistan who is molding music in his cavity and sharing amazing stuff all over the world.

She was 8 at the time. She is now around 14, I believe. The lead singer is Adnan Dhool, who was on Neray Neray Vas. He is one of the best lyricists in the country. By the way, did you recognize the lead guitarist? It's Sherry Khattak, from Karakorum band on Ye Dunya.

Sufi lyrics, sufi music has very derp meaning. It is about fighting the inner battle ( inner demons) uplifting the sprit and finding God. Inner demons can mean a number of things like addiction etc and one can only fight the inner demons when the body and soul says God meaning one can only fight it with the help of God and only when one really wants to and then piece by piece one can pick up the pieces of one's destiny
