I think the basic ability to sing in many voices is inate just as the ability to sing or speak is a part of the basic human design equipment. So in theory we should all be able to do it. The truth is, that just having the tools does not make an even adequate singer. What Marcelito does requires years of dedication, practice, desire... very few have the discipline to put forth the effort to even achieve a passable level of performance.... what you hear with Marcelito is a tour de force. Superb vocals, great breath control, silky smooth, inviting, warm ... what more can you ask? Tools available.. skills hard earned. A unique star.

For growing up on the street fending for himself and at times can only eat ONCE a day at times, maybe that's why he's able to hold his breath. He's really a very Talented and Gifted Singer. I'm just a Die Hard Fan and he's also my Countrymen. I saw him here in Canada Concert in 2019 and he's just down to earth human being. Great reaction. If it was up to the general public Marcelito would have won easily. The views on YT and comments had him way ahead of anyone else, but it was up to "50 super fans" to choose, because this was the champions edition not the regular show. Marcelito released a video before the final saying he wasn't able to choose his own song so Simon's team chose it. You saw Marcelito's face when Simon said HE picked a safe song. Marcelito was invited to enter the show to boost ratings, he was never going to win, Simon and the team already had a winner in mind. Marcelito can also sing in a lot of different languages, languages he doesn't speak. His English isn't so good that's why he has his wife on stage to interpret for him. He's so kind and humble.

Actually Simon was unfair to criticize Marcelito's song choice because due to copyright issues, etc, it came out later that the producers actually chose the song.

Marcelito, in a interview, honestly said he had no choice but had to abide by their rules, and that means according to Simon’s likes and dislikes. Marcelito’s voice is phenomenal. His life was hard as a child then in 2011 he won Philippines Got Talent and his life changed. In 2020 he performed on AMERICA'S GOT TALENT THE CHAMPIONS. HE PLACED 4TH. HE IS MARRIED WITH ! YOUNG DAUGHTER

Great reaction! The show is rigged. If you watch the performance right before this one (Con te Partiro) you will see Simon wearing same clothes and says the same thing. It was all cut and edited. Also, It was Simons team that chose the song for Marcelito. There were many discrepancies in the whole competition….I was in the audience. Marcelito was the audiences favorite for all his performances, but Simon already had his choice picked from the beginning. Marcelito came in 4th and the only singer in the top 5. But at least he was seen in 129 countries thanks to the show. 👍

Marcelito is really amazing. I remember watching him on local Philippine TV while he joined his first TV competition (Pilipinas Got Talent). He has come a long way since then. Another Filipino artist that you should check is KZ Tandingan. Her first performance on China's Singer 2018 was Rolling in the Deep.

Hi james! I don't know much hope this will help 😊. He gained popularity when he won as the Grand Winner in the Pilipinas Got Talent season 2 in 2011 and all of the Philippines was SHOCKED, AMAZED and all other superlatives during hid audition because he was the first human that was known to do both male and female voices so he was a crowd.and judge favorite. If I remember correctly his reason for joining was to find his mother who abandoned him. Fortunately, they were reunited when he won the show when he became a millionaire 🙄. Well, that was fortunate because I think a lot of people tried to introduce themselves as his family when he gained popularity (damn selfish human greed😓).Hehe.. anyways so he won and became popular especially when he was guested in the TheEllendeGeneres show. He was in this AGT season because it's a Battle of Champions from different GOT TALENTS in other countries. Maybe you can find his audition video here in YT.. God bless!
