This is a song he wrote in 2018 when he felt lost and depressed his basically saying that he wants to be set free from those feelings and those difficult times all of them had to go through at that stage. He is still in BTS and still signed to a contract they actually renewed their contract for another 7 years.

jimin is still a part of bts lol…set me free past 1 is actually Suga’s song from his mixtape D-2 and it’s called Interlude: Set Me Free. jimin said he wrote this song when he was feeling trapped and depressed during covid and needed an outlet to express his frustration.
