Info mainly from Billboard article: 💥Thursday (June 20) BTS‘ Jimin revealed the full track list for his upcoming second solo album, MUSE. The seven-song LP due out on July 19 KST (July 18 in other time zones), will feature the intro song “Rebirth,” as well as “Interlude : Showtime,” the pre-release song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” (featuring Loco), “Slow Dance” (featuring Sofia Carson), as well as “Be Mine,” “Who”, (single can now be purchased as presale aside from 2 versions MUSE album), and “Closer Than This” (which dropped in December.) Jimin, 28, wrote six of the songs, according to a release, composed, also finally listed as one of the producers for some of his songs, (though shown in Jimin’s documentary his involvement in producing all his songs), which also noted that the announcement from BIGHIT Music featured a vintage feel via images of old-school cassette tapes representing each song, with an overarching theme of “love” connecting all the tracks. The hip-hop/R&B-leaning focus song, “Who,” was produced by Grammy-nominated singer/producer Jon Bellion, along with Pete Nappi, Tenroc, Pdgogg and GHSTLOOP, with a vibe described as “intense bounce and guitar sound.” In addition, the pre-release song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” draws inspiration from marching bands, “blending hip-hop elements with the big band sound characterized by a large-scale orchestra, creating an upbeat, lively rhythm and dynamic atmosphere thanks to an assist from South Korean rapper Loco.” Other contributors to the album include Tommy Brown (Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber), as well as producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP and EVAN, who also worked on Jimin’s first solo album, 2023’s FACE, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Jimin’s official solo debut came with the 2018 single “Promise.” Five years later, he became the first South Korean soloist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Like Crazy,” followed by FACE‘s “Set Me Free, Pt. 2” reaching No. 30 on the chart. The song (and I think the whole album) was inspired by "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles. These are the vibe similarities and connections you can draw from. Jimin also said the album is about his source of inspiration, which seems LOVE (so far, two songs off the album are both about the love for his fans, the rest probably will be about other types of love too) 😊

No bc if you really dig into the narrative and connect all the dots and clues and references in the songs it's actually really mind-blowing. The Smeraldo flower is first mentioned in BTSs song The Truth Untold which refers to a man who due to his own fears is held back from confessing to the one he loved/ who he could've been happy with. The Truth Untold is a story of how not being true to yourself and not loving yourself can hold you back from love and happiness etc. This is like the epilogue of the concept from Jimin's FACE album. Where we start off with Face Off and Alone where he feels closed off, lonely and betrayed by the world and then ends with SMFpt2 where Jimin successfully overcomes all his fears and things holding him back and says nothing will stop him anymore. He's not wondering what could have been but deciding to open up to life, love and people instead. And now we come to this song - the end of the journey, the new page of his story where we see him 'blooming' The lyrics tenderly express the longing to confess and find love on behalf of those unable to articulate their feelings. Basically this song is The Truth Untold 's happy ending. And it is a happy song, so the happy beat and the happy visuals and the happy lyrics are very appropriate 😇
