We are far more laid-back in the UK than in the US. Words are just words; they have no special power; they are only offensive if you choose to be offended, and context is everything.

In the US, the C word is just about the worst thing you could call a woman. It’s VERY nasty. Second only to the N word.😮 😅

The C word is actually very nuanced here. Work in a bank and use it on a colleague, you’d be sacked. Work on a building site and use it on a colleague, it can bring a laugh.

Eastenders is a huge British soap. The ending of each episode has an iconic theme tune, with drum sound that goes “doof doof, doof doof, doodoof “. Somewhat like the drum part that Phil Colins plays in “in the air tonight”. So when he said something about the hecklers mother being so fat, falling down the stairs noise. That’s what he was referring to.

I am mortified that I got to make such a Schoolboy error and I only try to crave your forgiveness for my brief moment of total complete and utter insanity in making this mistake. G'day Guys! So Jimmy is touring all over the USA from October to mid December...perhaps you might be able to see him live? We have seen him live 3 times in recent years and loved each one! Highly recommend his shows! Cheers!

If you go to one of his shows you know what to expect. Someone in the audience used the "C" bomb on him. The response "do you find the word offensive?" YES I DO. "and you tjink I am one?" YES "well I'd like to say I'm sorry but I C*nt I mean Can't because I'm not the C*nt who paid £35 for my ticket.:

You’re right about the C word. If one uses it as punctuation then use it as an exclamation mark not a comma.

There are some expletives I rarely use although I am not offended when I hear them use so commonly nowadays. I think it’s a shame that they are use in general conversation as they have lost impact to show real anger and frustration.

I can't see any UK comic worth his salt being worried about offending Peter Kay, who is known in backstage circles as "The Gagpie" for his habit of stealing other comic's jokes. The public love him, comedians are generally less fond.
