The Lord put this song on my heart as I woke up the other day after a night of praying for healing and deliverance from a 36 year old bondage that was trying it's best to destroy me. I had to be willing to say goodbye and stop owning the pain. It belongs to Jesus now. He took it that night and gave me this song the moment my eyes opened the next morning. Thank you Lord. Today I went to school super depressed due to having a difficult time with understanding Algebra. I prayed before leaving to school that I would be able to understand, and anyway funny enough as we were going over some difficult stuff, I felt my mind expand in such a way that I felt that I was capable of understanding it for the first time, and just as I felt that, the sun literally came out of the clouds shining over me and literally reminding me of this song! I felt so happy and came home feeling so much better than I have been in a while! I always have mixed feelings when I hear this song, My Dad used to sing it out of tune and with the wrong lyrics but he enjoyed singing it his way. He passed away many years ago now but each time I hear it I'm transported back to being ten years old with him belting it out. I miss him.

Yes it is a wonderful song and my favorite cover. Johnny Nash though in 1972 and it hit #1 on Billboard. This was a remake for a movie in 1993 and is the best cover of all. Both are very inspiring.

Saw Johnnie Nash and Jimmy, many years ago in a concert at Alexandra Palace in North London. Johnnie was the headline. A great singer. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

God, I love this song. Love Jimmy Cliff's spin on it. Especially coming out of this pandemic year, listening to it makes my soul happy. It gives you hope. It makes you feel that the challenges you're facing, no matter how difficult, will all wash away in time. Don't give up. Life is hard.
