it's like Jimmy plays it for me once more. He was my friend and teacher. when I was going to le caveau de la montagne he would play this tune for me as he knew I loved it. Jimmy was a great friend, teacher and player. RIP. Your friend and student JP

My husband, Jon Wheatley, and I saw him there in 1980, when we were in Paris. He played this almost every night....with Renee Urtreger.

Never heard of Jimmy Gourley until I did some digging after hearing Clifford Brown Sextet in Paris... glad I did! Super swingin!

Jimmy Gourley is a guitarist from Chicago I believe, who's been living in Paris ever since the 50's. I know him from his playing with Belgian sax player Bobby Jaspar. Jaspar died at age 37, a great loss for the Belgian jazz scene, or the jazz scene in general. Gourley is to little known, so it's great that this beautiful piece has been posted! Thanks, Alexey!

Jimmy appears on a CD by Eddy Louiss "Jazz in Paris: Bohemia after dark". Just bought it and was blown away. So came to utoob for more info. Thanks to u guys for providing all the other info I couldn't find on google.

Yes, I did some research on Jimmy and found out more about him. He's been around a long time - too bad he's not better known. I remember Jasper, too. I have a great album with him and Hank Jones where he plays only flute on the entire album. Very nice. He was a great player, as well. Thanks for the info ~
