You mean Zach miller*? Luke was never a focal point of our team.. but Zach miller was the perfect tight end for our scheme , a positive blocker with reliable tough hands who can make the play when needed but isn’t asked to do much .. Zach miller was that guy for us but we didn’t resign him after SB48 , and the rest is history.. we should’ve converted Jimmy to WR to be honest

I don't think it was Russ that wanted Graham. Can't pin everything on him, Jimmy Graham experiment was exactly that, it was an experiment by Schneider and Carrol to make Jimmy a blocking TE who can catch instead of a receiver TE who's main responsibility is to score. Management fcked it up by trying to invest in more offensive fire power bc the league was trending that way by sacrificing the O-line, which we all saw how that ended up, years of sub par line man and consistently having one of the worst O-line in that era. Don't shit on Russ bc things didn't work out in the end. Celebrate the man for being a big part of bringing the 12's their first Superbowl and multiple playoffs appearance.

Jimmy Graham in madden 15 is a big reason why I’m a Seahawks fan to this day. Growing up in Canada, I didn’t have a ton of exposure to the NFL until I went to my buddy’s place in middle school and played madden. I chose the hawks cause y’all were either the best or #2 overall team in the league and I remember I’d throw crossers to Jimmy for 5-10 yards all game long.

Russell did not throw good jump balls to Jimmy Graham. I specifically remember certain games where it felt like we tried to force feed him, it was not from lack of trying to utilize him, but I don’t know how many times after the play was over, I said, “why can’t Russell get that ball of foot higher? Jimmy can out rebound those guys, why is #3 only getting it where Jimmy only needs to jump 3 inches off the ground to get his hands on it?” Can’t remember how many jump balls I saw defended that Jimmy really didn’t have to jump for, unfortunately either did the defender

And he could not come thru, when it came down to the game pressure. But he is better today because of that and being traded around.

Blocking IS football. It literally wins you the game or loses you the game. To go as far to say that he couldve been the GOAT tight means you either have no idea about football or you chose to ignore Jimmy Grahams deficiencies in blocking. If you watch a Gronk highlight reel you will see insane catches around his laces or something outside anyone elses catch radius, youll see multiple huge catches and runs in big games, play off games. Play off games in superbowl winning runs. The stats will tell you how much offensive production Gronk was responsible for on great teams. It becomes very clear that he was a difference maker. What you wont see on the highlight reels except for that one where he threw the dude out the club.. is how many damn yards he was responsible for by doing his job on the edge of that line. The guy was an absolute coaches dream. When its all said and done i have no doubt Bill will say LT was his best ever, then Brady, then Gronk. But deep down he knows there are Bradys out there, a pass rusher can get doubled, but there has NEVER been a monster like Gronk. You replace Gronk with anyone at all at any time in his career your chance of winning goes down. And he gave his body for his team. Completely maxxed it out. Emptied the tank. No one EVER questioned his heart. Everyone in Seattle called your boy Graham soft. Dude... honestly.
