Also, as someone who's from the uk and also has only come across the jimmy awards now - how does it work, are they nominated for the awards, and then have to audition for each part/solo which im assuming are picked by the jimmy awards people?

So the Jimmy awards is affiliated with many different state or regional high school theatre award shows and high schools can be apart of their respective regions award show and a scout from the award show watches the shows and nominats certain kids for actor/actress of the year and if you are selected you go to the Jimmy awards

I know it's all but synonymous with the part at this stage, but I just have to say that I really dislike the 'Matilda Voice' everyone seems to put on. Nothing against the actress, I've just never seen a rendition of the song without that loud, grating and dare I say overly theatrical voice.
