Jim McCarty is one of those players that isn't too hung up on having a bunch of guitars or gear hanging around- he usually only has one or two main Les Paul's. (all newer stuff, nothing vintage) In this video, through a 1964 Fender Twin Reverb he was using his BK Butler Tube Driver, and he also had a Tube Screamer as a boost. He tested a Fulltone Octafuzz, a Fulltone Plimsoul, and a ProCo Rat. Back in Cactus, he used an Ampeg Scrambler with his Marshalls. I'm only assuming he did this to see if the Tube Driver would hold up, it seems Carmine Appice might have had some opinion that it was unreliable to play live with.

Pretty Damn cOoL!!! Just went to the Magic Bag 4-11-2015 show with Cactus. Man-o-Man-o-shevis, those guys were hitting on All 8's. Great Show!!! The concert almost didn't get off the ground, i'll explain. A friend of mine almost had Carmine as a hood ornament when he came flying out of the rear alley backstage door. Carmine ran outta' there like he was shot out of a cannon. Luckily, my friend seen him just in time and nothing went down! Thanx for the video. Oh Yeah, forgot. It seems funny Jimmy is playing Jimmy...Page that is. Cactus is the American Led Zeppelin. I wonder if somewhere Page is playing Cactus? Looks like Lake St.Clair off Jefferson?

I love how Jim's dog is so blase, "I hear this all the time" :) Nice house too. Good to see Jim didn't end up like so many other musicians who got beat out of their earnings by their managers and record companies.

McCarty sold this 1964 Fender Twin Reverb he had since new, to Ted Nugent. All of the Mitch Ryder & Detroit Wheels L.P.'s, McCarty used this Twin. I guess Jim was downsizing his gear.
