Well done, 🤣I remember when my sons mother enrolled him in junior soccer, he really couldn't have cared less, when my wife & I had to take him we just used to watch in a bemused way as he stood in the middle of the field chatting to one of his friends in a world of his own. Every now & then he would look at us to get a sign as to where the ball was & wander after it, all the time fanatical parents were screaming at their own kids, it was sad & funny at the same time.

Swim teacher here: swimming was somewhat accurate but most parents don’t bother watching their kids, they’re too busy on their phones. The really keen parents with kids in squad have been known to time their kids laps with a stopwatch then yell out the times. There’s got to be a happy medium between the two types. But the maccas bit was spot on. So many kids get maccas after or some other treat. It’s a huge talking point amongst my 3-5 year old students….it just makes me hungry and jealous.

When my son was 5 he joined a new school halfway through the year and joined the soccer team. I say that loosely as it was more like a group of kids running aimlessly up and down the field together. My son on the other hand was a gun player unbeknownst to us and intercepted most kicks and proceeded to dribble every single ball into the goal. The other parents couldn't defide if they were faced with an ADHD newcomer who was hogging the ball or someone ho was going to mean they would win every game (even though goals were not to be counted). One cold winters day my son kicked yet another goal and then profeeded to moonwalk a few metres down the field in celebration. I didnt even know he could. I'll never forget how proud i was.

Being a pony clubber many years ago, some of the parents were truly hideously accurate. Thankfully we were usually the butt of the obnoxious other parents rather than having those parents. Our family weekends were so much fun and loved by all. I'm not sure they enjoyed it at all.
