Edward and Alphonse Elric = DHIL and Blade both tried reviving someone ends up making a monster and facing consequences in there future. But at least in HSR we got a better ending we have Bailu.

That ending was very much expected 😅 but in all honesty this companion quest made me shed a tear, I feel really bad for jing liu after the hell she had been through, watching her friend get killed in battle and seeing her other two friends be punished for committing a great sin only to be taken over by mara and being forced to remember her painful past just to keep herself in touch with reality.

How sad. He wanted the woman he loved back, and he and his best friend did the forbidden to do so, only for it to blow up in their faces. Now he's nothing but a walking corpse, longing only for rest.

Was the friend they tried to save this foxian girl from the Quintet or someone else? They used the flesh of an Abundance Emanator, which cursed Blade with this state, right? How did they get hold of the flesh? Was it the victory over the Emanator the foxian girl sacrificed herself for?

@@captain1432 Yes, Baiheng would be the one that they were trying to save. Somehow Yingxing (Blade) got cursed with immortality via Shuhu (It did say that Shuhu's flesh become his own). Baiheng had exhausted all her luck against Shuhu (it was said she was lucky), she opened the way for IL to be awoken but she got injured. Then I guess Blade and IL tried to do the things on her to save her, and I suppose that's how we got Bailu

@@captain1432They were at war with the Abundance. Its also the war that Lan ascended and wiped the Abundance influence in Xianzhou. Shuhu died in that battle and was used to revive Baiheng but it failed and became a dragon abomination that Jingliu had to take down.

It's hard to say that he loved her. We only know that Dan Feng started the ritual and he pitted in with the flesh of the Abundance Emanator. In that way, Dan Feng was even more mad than Blade. No word in the story mentioned anything about love. Just... deep regret for her, that's all.

Still to this day this is my favorite cutscene, but it also sucks that Blade wants Baiheng back considering she took care of him when he was little. Kinda feel bad for the guy but he’s still a wanted criminal with immortality

Blade was in love whit Baiheng the Foxian so he and Danhfeng tried to revive her whit the Dragon reincarnation ritual and the power of yaoshi so in the end they failed doing the ritual Blade becomes inmortal Dan Feng died in the hands of Jing liu and Banheig reincarnates as Bai lu. Thats why Jing liu comes to visit bai lu and blade do the same.
