the hand he caught the sword had glove equipped. the glove had a passive "indestructible". that's how he was able to catch it. it was a calculated gamble.

You are correct on just getting the tip of the iceberg, this episode just broke into the 2nd Book 1st chapter of the light novels and there are 8 of them. when this is done at least read the Manhwa and it will explain all the stuff you are missing. the anime is doing probably the most justice to the Light Novel.

Just to let you know why he was able to catch the sword the anime didn't show it but the gauntlet had an effect that prevents all hand injuries.Also Igris was too confident because Jinwoo couldn't hurt him basically the entire fight that's the only reason he got lucky to stab him.The blue energy in his hand was just him summoning the dagger from inventory it's not magic just to clarify.But next week when you see what job he gets it's going to be crazy also this jeju recon seems to be anime original and i am really curious about it

Igris... wasn't too confident. He was conflicted and holding back by a metric crap ton, to make sure he doesn't accidentally kill Jinwoo. Even when he summoned his blade, Igris was hesitating. There's a side-chapter in the manhwa of this fight from Igris's PoV, which shows his thoughts during the fight.

@@MsDark93 I guess confident wasn’t the right word choice but it’s that he wasn’t worried about Jinwoo’s attacks so in a way he was careless and that’s what allowed Jinwoo to stab him. I’ve read the story and as far as I understood it he wasn’t holding back but was nerfed and not at full power but he still wanted to defeat Jinwoo to prove he isn’t worthy.

Relevant buffs and equipment effects you may have missed (anime only enjoyers) Will Power buff: Jinwoo Takes 50% LESS damage when he drops below 30% hp High Knight's Chestplate: makes him take 20% LESS damage taken High Knight's (Right) Gauntlet: Makes him Immune to all damage to that HAND specifically + 3% LESS physical Damage taken ( Wasn't shown in the anime but it was in the novel and manwha) Kasaka Venom gland: 20% LESS damage taken (the poison he drank when fighting cerberus ) He used fatal strike and advanced dagger skills at the very end to stack his damage way way high He had all of that and Igris gave my man Jinwoo the 7 piece combo no biscuit no bev in mid air and followed it up with the broly face run. bruh

He didn't wanna try Ruler's hand because it MIGHT cost mana and he had zero mana after fighting igris he cannot replenish it. ( no potions no full recovery except the water that the knights dropped to regain stamina)
