Reliance Jio has silently introduced three new “true unlimited upgrade” prepaid plans, offering users more affordable access to unlimited 5G data. These new booster packs, priced at Rs 51, Rs 101, and Rs 151, can be purchased in conjunction with an existing plan.
tariff hike on July 3, 2024, Jio raised the threshold for accessing unlimited 5G data under its “Jio Welcome Offer.” Now, only plans with 2GB of data per day or more are eligible for the unlimited 5G perk. However, the new true unlimited upgrade plans eliminate this restriction, allowing users on 1GB/day and 1.5GB/day plans
The Rs 51 plan includes 3GB of 4G data and unlimited 5G, provided the user has a 5G-supported device and resides in an area where Jio True 5G services are available. The Rs 101 plan offers 6GB of 4G data alongside unlimited 5G, while the top-tier Rs 151 plan provides 9GB of 4G data plus unlimited 5G.
Jio has removed the Rs 61 “5G upgrade” add-on plan, which allowed users to try its 5G services with any active plan and came with a 6GB data cap. This plan appears to have been replaced by the Rs 101 plan following the recent price hike.
These changes reflect Jio’s strategic shift in its 5G offerings, balancing between maintaining its customer base and managing the increased costs associated with providing high-speed 5G services
Rs 189 Plan: Previously Rs 155, this plan now costs Rs 189. It includes unlimited voice calls, 2 GB of data, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
--Rs 249 Plan: Earlier Rs 209, this plan now costs Rs 249. It offers 1 GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
--Rs 299 Plan: Previously Rs 239, this plan now costs Rs 299. It includes 1.5 GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
--Rs 349 Plan: Earlier Rs 299, this plan now costs Rs 349. It provides 2 GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
--Rs 399 Plan: Previously Rs 349, this plan now costs Rs 399. It includes 2.5 GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
--Rs 449 Plan: Earlier Rs 399, this plan now costs Rs 449. It offers 3 GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
