Awesome video, as usual. Lately, I've been wondering about something. How does a person apply the hikite in Gedan Barai against a kick? Do we pull and twist the foot whilst striking the ankle or the side of the knee with the forearm?

Or simply use the “first hand” as a parry and the “second hand” as a strike to the unbalanced opponent? This is supposing that the kick is high enough, which for our usual analysis it probably wouldn’t be. We’re not using kata techniques against trained martial artists after all…

@@thebunkaiguy Hmm...maybe the block could be the intial crossing of the hands? Something like the way boxers deal with low attacks ...put an elbow in the way of it? Then we grab and pull the enemy whilst striking them someplace...not necessarily on the leg...with the forearm? That makes sense....I think.
