Hello friends.
This is the official channel of JSK-koubou.
Here you can find many interesting videos about homemade machinery, woodworking projects, plans and life hacks.
jisaku-koubou.com/downloads/v...
I have created a vacuum clamping system that can clamp materials quickly.
It utilizes a device that evacuates using compressed air.
The device that creates the vacuum costs only $ 15.
The vacuum area is 13.9 cm x 13.9 cm
The ultimate vacuum of the vacuum equipment used is -92kPa.
Theoretically, it is possible to chuck with a force of 179 kgf.
It can be adjusted to an angle that is easy to use, and the clamp does not get in the way, so work progresses.
Since it uses a rubber sealing, no clamp marks are left on the wood.

Just re-watched this video and have come to realize I did not grasp the full implications of this build when I originally watched it. As a result, I am completely amazed buy this build! And, I'm as intrigued as I could be. I'm wondering if a cordless inflator, such as a Makita high pressure 18v or 40v model, could power this system. A cordless, COMPRESSOR-LESS, portable vacuum clamp would be an amazing fixture, if you ask me. Anybody have an idea on this? I'm looking into it! Thanks, as always for your amazing build video, sir. The clamping force is dependent on the net area. There are sufficient deep grooves for vacuum. Let me give you advice that making additional small shallow grooves are not necessary in this case. Cheers

For people in the USA looking to source parts: Amazon sells the "Vacuforce VML1008 Inline Vacuum Venturi" for about $28. It claims to pull 27mmHG (approximately the same as the $65 vacuum pump in the "customers also viewed these products" row). Then you can pick up 10 feet of 5/16" Buna-N cord stock for around $17. This will give 1/16" clearance above 1/4" plywood squares. (Use super glue to attach the ends to each other) You would also need to pick up tubing and the fittings to attach it to the air compressor. Maybe when all is said and done, that $65 vacuum pump isn't so expensive after all.

Perhaps but you still need the seals so unless you can get a vacuum pump for 28 bucks, and you already have an air compressor, this is a better way to go.

I love the ingenious jigs you build out of plywood. I find the way you extend the use of inexpensive power hand tools particularly amazing. However, we never see you break down a full sheet of plywood into the manageable sized pieces you use in your videos. Your DIY panel saw seems too small. Do you have an ingenious jig for cutting up a full sized sheet? If so, I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting to see it.

Very cool. I wasn't aware of that device for creating vacuum from a pressure line. To get it to make sense I imagined wind blowing across a chimney. Not sure if that's analogous or not. Overall, I can imagine the clamp stand being very useful to all manner of artisans/workshop-tinkerers. Not sure if you can buy something like this or not. But even if you can, I'll bet most of them would not be as solidly constructed as yours. Thanks.
