To celebrate our new limited edition CD, ‘Love’, we’re finally showcasing the solo numbers that we’ve been performing as part of our live shows. The wonderful Marcella Puppini takes centre stage in this gorgeous rendition of Fats Wallers Jitterbug Waltz.
“Jitterbug Waltz is one of my all-time favourite songs, and one of the first ones I ever learned to play on the accordion when I was at Music College.
The version I sing is quite different from the Fats Waller original, and it was originally sung by Dinah Washington, who also penned the lyrics. I absolutely love the song’s sultry, lilting melody and the way that the band and I always seem to find more push and pull in our “three-quarter time”.
