The list doesn’t even take into account a quarter of the successful QBs that played in the NFL. Brock Purdy Tom Brady Lamar Jackson Dak Prescott Russel Wilson Jordan Love Aaron Rodgers Brett Favre Drew Brees Kurt Warner Tony Romo The list they are debating doesn’t scratch the surface of different situations, that different QBs faced. If anything the list they discussed, along with the list above, proves that drafting a QB in the Top 10 is an outright losing proposition. 💯 x 💯

As someone who watched every Leinart game at USC (he won a Heisman), he and JJ are quite different QB's as far as their skills set. Leinart in no way had the arm talent JJ has. Not close, and this hurt him in the NFL. Leinart's calling card was accuracy, which was borderline elite. This is also the area KOC is working with JJ to improve on most with, addressing his footwork. They're both gamers and good decision makers, but Leinart's immobility + lack of arm strength really hurt him. JJ has the much higher upside IMO, because he has greater tools to work with.
@purplepainforums

Depends on what you mean by arm talent. Leinart had the accuracy but not the strength and JJ has the strength but lacks the accuracy.

@@purplepainforums Arm talent as in, he can get the ball out of his hand and delivers the ball to his intended receiver quickly to avoid pass break-ups and INT's. I'm not buying the "JJ isn't accurate" argument. 72.3% completion rate his last season at UM, which is outstanding. Burrow has the top completion % among active QB's at 68%. I know, it's NFL vs. college, and KOC believes Mccarthy can be even more accurate with better footwork, but Maye is the QB in this class that needs to address his accuracy the most.

Funny how "expert fans" are calling JJM a "bust" based on OTAs. First, it's clear that the coaching staff is making him work on new footwork and he's still absorbing the playbook. It's not rocket science to assume that KOC's plan involves both the footwork and playbook to become 2nd nature before they force JJM into a game. My guess is 2nd half of this season or week 1 next year at the latest. Regarding the comps, I'd be surprised if JJM is a bust. He's not on drugs (Manzeil, Leaf), he doesn't have a noodle arm, he's not undersized, he is clearly dedicated to the craft and working as hard as anyone, and in college he had good accuracy and made good decisions, even under pressure in high leverage situations (3rd and long...) Again, we'll see...

Shane Walden is an excellent offensive coordinator, he resurrected Geno's career from the dead. Unlike KOC he actually runs a QB friendly offense. A variation of the Earhart/Perkns offense. Simpler play calls and easier to change plays at line of scrimmage. You think KOC can do no wrong. You know what? At least Walden knows to run the ball and incorporate play action consistently.

I agree on the Bears. They have been basically tanking for at least two years. What does tanking do to the psyche of a team from top to bottom? Can a tanking team really turn it all around from a losing culture to a winning culture in one year? I don't think so. I think the Bears are a year or two away from being, a serious threat in the NFC North.

Don't worry about Caleb. He has been on the biggest stage for years. Ask Gerald McCoy about crying and wanting to win. You knock him for caring and put McCarthy on a pedestal for same thing. Caleb has played at Oklahoma in Red River Shootout and rose to occasion in first game. You guys are so jealous of his talent you try to drag him down anyway you can. You act like McCarthy sitting is so great. It's because he is not even close to ready. Enjoy him sitting while Caleb wins offensive rookie of the year. Also I guarantee you Eberflus will be coaching the Bears longer than KOC coaches the Vikings.... The joke on you is you think Vikings organizationally is better than Bears. McCaskey has finally decided to cede all football operations to football people. Ryan Poles has been excellent in building this team. You wish Clownsi could rebuild this quick. Warren as president has extensive experience(Including MN) and is in lockstep with Poles. Poles is tight with Eberflus. This team is built to win now and later. They have cap space and draft picks going forward. Their depth is good and improving. Poles didn't piss away whole drafts and subsequent draft picks unlike Clownsi.
