Wolf will be competing for Grand Slams one day. I'm not even joking, I fully expect to see him at least reach a slam semifinal one day (given the success that Mackie Mcdonald has been having, it shows that the college game can transition to the pro game if done right). JJ is incredible, his only weakness is that his serve could be better, but god his strokes are majestic. Kovacevic on the other hand might crack the top 100 but will have a much tougher time, because this match was basically his best tennis, whereas it was a normal day for JJ.

That ace at set point first set by wolf was fire!!!...also Kovacevic single hand BH is a thing of beauty...takes exceptional footwork, timing, and strength to hit such a nice bh time and time over throughout the match. Both players used powerful flat shots from the baseline and serve return, extremely effective that many players now do not hit because of the popularity of high top spin modern game. This reminds me of how effective the flat shots really is like when Soderling hit massive flat forehand from the baseline and on serve return crippling Nadal and winning Roland Garros 10 years ago. Brilliant tennis by both players...*two thumbs up*

Did the serve at 14:53 not count as a let??
@hanriluo85933 жыл бұрын
No lets in college tennis, everything is played. Probably because people would intentionally call a let when it's an ace, or if they miss the return, so they could redo the point.

From what I hear it's common in college tennis to not apply the let rule in matches since it serves as a time saver especially in team settings, but I could be wrong...

Yes, college rules are dumb
@kogniscent5 жыл бұрын
@@jeanjacques4775 always found it ridiculous when college rules differ from the pros. like the time difference in college basketball. You would think it would always be the same so players can get used to it.
@jeanjacques47755 жыл бұрын
@@kogniscent Yes I don't understand why playing with different rules. It's not good for the players.
@xjjamess5 жыл бұрын
@@jeanjacques4775 d1 college play lets, because without video reviews and line judges etc., if receiving player get ace on good serves, the receiver would often call lets forcing the service to take a second serve that then put the server at a disadvantage. Therefore the d1 rules allow lets to play on. Tennis have many different rules or type of scoring in various tournaments or sanctioning body all across the world. They're not always the same.
