He’s hella mature for the way he handled all of this. A lot of guys with his amount of talent are big headed. He stayed humble, was thankful for whatever team took the risk on him, went thru his rehab, found his place in the Nuggets system, and is now blossoming into a really good player on a team that is consistently contending.

yall people love to look at the past knowing the future. Easy to say now that we know how Bagley's career has panned out, but even still picking MPJ at 2 at that point in time would be extremely stupid. Bagley was a really good prospect, he was top 1 in HS and balled out at Duke

He has to be the luckiest player in NBA history: Drops significantly in the draft due to injuries, doesn't play his first year, does okay his rookie season, then averages 19 ppg his sophomore season, somehow gets a max extension and financial security for the rest of his life right before injuries hit him again. Regardless what happens, dude got paid.

Well, idk if you seen his contract? 12mil per y is garrantied, the rest is depending on many things but especially on the how many games he plays, or gets DPOY, AllStar, All NBA, MVP... championship + games played, so many things are added but bottom line is games played, he cant get into any selection without being present on the floor. The Nuggets GM is so smart! Even with his health concerns he can be traded with that contract easily and still the nuggets will get a superstar in return. The Joker will get his supermax this summer but the cap will go up tremendously season after bcs new TV rights contract so the nuggets will pay lux tax for only one season and all contracts signed before will look very cheap. Tim Connely, president of basketball operations is highly intelligent man.

When I had the micro surgery, the moment the doctor took the bone off the nerve spot, I felt alive again. After that injury, whenever I sit longer than 30 minutes, I will get up and move around. I used to not like him during his 1st season back. But he takes criticisms well and has matured a lot. Can’t wait for him to be the nuggets’s best player

For anyone saying their team messed up by not picking him missed the entire point of this vid. He himself wasn’t sure if he could fully recover from his injuries. He could barely walk and deal with the pain on draft night. I woulda have passed on him as well. It’s not like he proved the league wrong either he’s just starting to be fully healthy.

As a Knicks fan I was literally screaming at my tv saying draft MPJ. Idgaf if his spine isn’t connected to his skull. He’s that good! I still cry that we passed on him lol

Cuz he could barely walk up the steps to shake Silver’s hand. People forget how dominate he was and that back injury really set him back, he’s gonna be an amazing talent in this league

Even with the injury, should have been top 4. Luka definitely going #1 on the re-draft and the rest depends on what a team needs between him, Trae and Ayton. Shai would even be up there

I knew Nuggets had a steal when they drafted him, I was shocked when he dropped that low. edit: I live in sacramento and not shocked kings had a chance to get him. 😂😂😂😂

“I was sitting on the table, and the top 10 teams front office were there just evaluating me.” makes you think about the deeper side of the NBA. These teams don’t look at these guys as human beings, just robots that are able to dribble and shoot. Smh

To me from this interview he seem like a good dude who may have been honest with teams. When he said he was in a little pain after the first workout and then the second workout he had pain made teams drop him on their draft boards, I don’t really blame the teams except the Clippers that pick could’ve lost people jobs.

When I first discovered MPJ in overtime I knew he is going to be a special talent.. Then he was gone, he was out of radar because of the injury.. When he got drafted, since I can't really follow every game of the Nuggets I have no clue that he was out of the season because of the injury I keep searching for any highlights and I can't find any video.. Now finally this guy is being recognized because of his talent.. I thought he's a complete Ben Simmons type of player..
