mister Reddick I would like to ask you one question if I may, I was also a pro basketball player not on your level tho , and I still work as a coach, so I know a little of basketball myself. My question to you would be why and what criteria did you use when you voted for embiid as you mvp? thank you.

@@goranjankovic6201 I'm a big Jokic fan, but realistically (and it's a regular season award) any of Embiid, Jokic and Giannis would have been deserving. And there may have been just a little voter fatigue with Jokic, and Embiid had much bigger games down the stretch. Not a big deal -- are were superb this year.

@@BlakaveliX Because of what Perk said Jokic threw the MVP himself. From that point on, if you watched the games, Jokic went down with his assists just to not average a triple double. He even shot under 50% VS HUSTON ROCKETS when he didn't shoot under 50% for the whole season. It was obvious to those who follow the Nuggets that he did all of that on purpose so he wouldn't get the MVP. It was disgusting.. not to mention the race thing..

Giannis also is really humble, and even calls himself a role player saying everyone is a role player, he also is very humble despite being probably the 2nd best player in basketball, and not too long ago the best the back to back MVP before Giannis too, Steph curry, is really humble and great too, and honestly the dream for any NBA team is to be made up of guys with the personality of Steph, Giannis, Jokic, Tim Duncan, Dirk...

As a long time Denver fan I was doubting him for his injury proneness, his lack of defence, and the brainless shooting (which he still does at some point, but it makes sense... he's an absolute elite shooter for his frame - nobody can guard his jumper, quick and high and he's tall) but he really improved very much. Jokic's approach to basketball rubbing off on his teammates means that he's a great teacher and leader to. For his teammate to say "Yeah, that craziness that y'all see, I'm starting to realize how his brain works and emulate it," is actually a thing. Note how people usually talk about Kobe's work ethic and how it rubbed off on them after they saw it in action. Same thing here, down to the awe of like "Oh, wow, I'm starting to get it." More people need to listen when grown professionals remark on a special talent among them.

MPJs growth on the defensive end. and the offensive end. as a player and a person these last few seasons has been amazing. this dude used to be an unaware traffic cone who never passed and butted heads with the coaching staff about his touches and playing time. He's always been a 6'10" sniper so denver still gave him the max, now he's more than holding his own in the playoffs and dishing out assists when the defense closes on him!! which is allowing malone to keep him on the floor in high leverage situations. if he can keep it up vs the heat and we win a chip. this dude will be an all time comeback/player growth story especially with all the back surgeries and stuff. he has a similar game to klay thompson..maybe not as good as a ball handler/passer as klay but he can get there and play the same role klay played for the warriors dynasty with the nuggets upcoming dynasty. I heard a journalist talking about mpj on a podcast saying he seems like he's faking his all-in, team first, unselfish mentality and it wont be long until we hear a trade request coming from him. I highly doubt that. MPJ has always been a good dude. maybe a bit immature as a young-un but you can see that he was raised right and its showing as he matures. I also think if we go all the way with him making the offensive sacrifices he has malone will reward him with a bigger and bigger role as the years go on. in past years it might've been a bad idea to embed him in the offense as much cause the nuggets never knew if he would go down with another back injury all of the sudden and his attitude just hadnt been there. Malone rewards good team players with good attitudes, hes stayed healthy recently, good things come to those who wait and mpj will absolutely get his.

He could score 50 every night, but that would come at a cost to team success many nights, and that’s why he doesn’t do it. Each assist is worth about 2.2-2.4 points, so add his points and points from assists. Plus he gets a block or two and a steal or two every game.

Depends on your teammates. If you got a bunch of guys who cant hit shots or play efficient basketball it makes more sense to fully lead the charge on scoring. How do we determine the winner of a game? By who gets the most rebounds, assists, or points? Stats are important but not equal in value.
@Jonathan-xt6jw
@Jonathan-xt6jw 11 ай бұрын
@@SuperSonic_868 While you are right, Jokic sets up a lot of dunks/layups and uncontested 3s, so the efficiency is high with his assist attempts. When the team is not cutting or knocking down open shots, Jokic can take over and do it himself, but with less efficiency as when he's scoring and distributing. That's why when Jokic scores 40+ it's usually in a loss and when he has triple doubles the team almost always wins.

I was someone hoping the Nuggets would move MPJ for a better defender at the start of the season. He had injury problems, seemed overpaid (Hello Jordan Poole 🙃), and didn't seem to do much else but shoot the 3. Fortunately, he's having a solid playoff run and proving me wrong at the moment. Seems like a nice guy -- best of luck on his continued health and success.

thats so true! in game 1 you could see a double team on jokic and he spin the other way, everyone would guess he is gonna try and scoop layup or floater but he wipes it to the corner. Gordon could probably feel he was gonna do that and had already anticipated a back screen on the defender. Those plays are just beautiful because they had to have a great synergy to both think about that weird play lol

All anyone brings up when talking about Jokic is numbers. Casual fans do not want to hear conversations about numbers, and whether hoop fans want to hear it or not, the league is kept afloat by casuals. Jokic does not appeal to the casual fan at all.
