Big displacement, big cam (and high revs to boot), big stall, big rear end (and gears etc.), big rubber. Of course the whole drivetrain is built, but if you think about it, conceptually it is quite simple, and is part of what makes me adore these naturally aspirated (all motor) setups.

Small trucks are making a come back, you can get a stock Ford Ranger with 4.5 second 60 time, I remember when it was chore to get one to fwy speeds.

Never really considered them gone as I've had at least 1 S-series chassis in my driveway for the last 35 years or so, and commonly congregate with other S-Series, not to mention I haven't driven by a construction site without a ranger in it as far as I can recall EVER lol. But yeah-ford Maverick small truck is around. I hear ya. Even tho my last 2 Ford Mavericks were H-Modofied Sportsman class 1/4m CARS not small pickups lol

This is way more than just motor. This is what a dialed in drivetrain is like. 1000hp with a bad chassis setup is slower than 500hp with a dialed in chassis. Its shown time and time again.

If you raise the compression high enough and advanced the timing enough, put hot enough fuel in it, it will always make more power until it doesn't make any power

Definitely impressive in a truck. My buddy made just over 700fwhp with a 14:1 347. I'm sure this sb is +440ci with a ton of compression so it's not that unrealistic.
