Throughout Street Fighter history, there has been 1 character that has stood out in terms of being weak, low-tier, and difficult to compete with. That character is of course 12, from Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. 3s has some really crazy combos and high damage supers, but Twelve doesn't really have any of them. Sad times when you run into a good 12 player online and get destroyed like I did with my Ibuki. Hope you guys enjoy the matches!

If he had an easier time comboing and dealt more damage he'd be a nightmare to deal with. He has an obscene amount of options that are unique to him. I don't think he was created as a joke - Ostensibly he was a problem during developement and so the team nerfed him extra just to be safe.

I’ve heard Twelve is capcoms attempt at making a character who is amazing at playing neutral but overall terrible which makes sense given how good his pokes and mobility is.

I think 12 has the best ex projectile in the game. He’s also the only character without a overhead. His taunt also makes him invisible.

Ryu and Remy is tied, having no overhead is fine since he can instant air dash attacks and everyone has a universal overhead.

@@EmphasisOnJ whats bad about it is that twelve is already very meter reliant about his kit and you just mostly use it to fish for people that are walking forward, ryu and remy is tied because they are both safe on block, ryu knocks down but remy can super cancel into it using it as a confirm. The universal overhead shouldn't be underestimated since there are overheads out there that can be punishable on hit

Honestly this is one of the coolest fighting game low tiers I've ever seen. I love that it's not just a case of "too slow" or "outclassed in every way". This character has stuff going for it, it's just understandably under tuned. I love the idea of a character in a game about combos that eschews combo game for other sneakier and more subtle advantages.

Yeah no He's also just missing a lot of tools He can't special cancel into his supers, and against certain characters he can get punished for HITTING THE SUPER. And his tools usually just give little to no reward for the risk it poses The reason he's bad is that the tools he has tend to have a "but..." Attached to them or just aren't good

@@juanokug4 You started off by saying I missed the mark, then said he suffers from not being able to combo into his super and his moves being poorly rewarded. Sounds like when I said he's undertuned and his design eschews combos? I'm not a fighting game player, but I'm sure that if his moves did more damage to compensate for the lack of combos he'd be usable at the least. The whole benefit of combos is free damage, so naturally a character that can't combo should do above average damage per move.

@@KLIXORthe combos aren't "free damage" (although, yeah I guess they are) it's also a guaranteed reward. The more times you let the opponent go the more chances they have to hit you. It's not that he doesn't favor them, that would imply that he can combo. Which he can't. He can't even cancel into any specials without whiffing or being *minus on hit* It's a very layered issue of bad normals piled on bad specials Maybe if one of those two were to change he'd be better but that's besides the point

I'm the biggest Twelve stan you'll ever find, I really do want this character to get a second shot in SF6. I'm a sucker for copy characters / shapeshifter characters like Charade in Soulcalibur and Double in Skullgirls. It's such a fun concept to be able to copy some of the other player's moves, it sucks that it's an ability locked behind a super in this game. Twelve could be so much more of a real character if he just had better damage and framedata, and if a couple more of his normals were cancellable. Here's hoping they'll give the boy another chance

I really wish Twelve could cancel his Normals better, like a normal character Being able to cancel his shit into specials and supers instead of only having like 1 button he can cancel from (his specials in general could also be a bit better, only his EXs are actually decent) I really also like the fact his movement is so fluid and that his walk can just low profile a lotta stuff, it is super fun Also, about Scary Movies, 1 actually felt like a real movie parodying stuff while the rest kinda feels like they got lost in the reference black hole, my rank goes 2, 1, 3 and 4

I fell in love with Twelve after watching this video and have been learning him for 4 months now. Absolutely EVERYTHING you said is true about the character but I just like him, it's a very fun challenge. Neutral gets overlooked by a lot of top tier character players and Twelve is the best character to force you to master those! FP isn't just an attack, it's a real lesson on prediction. You don't just FP, you *have* to set your opponent up for a safe FP or you get punished a lot worse than other characters. You don't just jump dash attack, you have to practice mix ups and doing that with the hit and run game yield very interesting results, just like in the video. It's a lot of fun to see how confused other players are with my movements and how difficult it is to predict an experienced Twelve. Playing Twelve is a lot of fun if you put in some work.

Twelve is like if magneto had no specials he could cancel into, no supers worth a damn, and his damage was relegated to what you get from a triangle jump low kick. Just as quick as possible pick at opponent, tiny bit by tiny bit, changing your timing and attacks to keep them guessing.

I know it's frustrating to lose in FGs, but I like how jmcrofts laughs and kinda has fun at the loss. I remember, when I was a kid, how mad I'd get at losing. There was no practice mode on SF2 (SNES/Genesis), so you had to practice during a match with a friend. If their fireball hit you it was, "I get my hit back" just so you could keep the life bars even. Now, well into adulthood, I laugh when I'm getting destroyed. It's even funnier how hard I try to get out of the loss. And still. Used to hate passing the controller. Now, it's almost a relief. HAHA!

SFV was pre SFIII storywise so i actually think it's a great thing they added 11. at least for me it kinda sets up expectations for us to see 12 or maybe a 13 or something in SF6, since it's after SFIII

I wish you would've brought up that Twelve's crouch walk can do under some projectiles. I haven't played 3S in a hot minute so I don't wanna be wrong by trying to say what specific ones he can go under. But it meant you didn't take chip damage and what not. Not a huge deal, but neat imo

You should try the game Hellish Quart. It's in early access rn. It's a pretty unique take on fighting games, being based in real-world sword-fighting. I think you'd get a kick out of it.
