At the local arcade I used to surprise players using a team of Guile/Gambit/Jill. Not because they were all that great, but because you could combo Hurricane into Royal Flush and then into the Tyrant Super. The damage wasn't great, but it was always fun seeing people who didn't even realize the tyrant super existed, much less actually see it used in game effectively.

For the Ken air combo, you’re supposed to only light punch once before the tatsu. Then you get all four hits and maximum damage. And on some characters you can do the tatsu immediately after the launcher for slightly higher damage overall.

I've never been into fighting games but I've watched so many of your videos and it's honestly making me want to give them a shot. Especially mvc2. I dont care that it's an old game, I love the Sprite work and animations. Especially love the idle animations on characters like magneto and cable.

With b.b hood you can actually do down heavy kick twice and it sets them up to take the full damage of her special causing more damage The first d. hk trips them and the second one makes them float and it's easier to spot if you locked them into the combo

This really put this game in a new light for me. I always assumed all the depth was in the top tier character and that most of the roster was just useless and could hardly do anything. I'll always prefer UMvC3, but I'm starting to get the hype for this game

A buddy of mine who was big in the montreal competitive scene back in the late 90's early 2000's used to run a Shuma-Gorath, Amingo, and Doctor Doom team. The only other time I got a beating like that in a fighting game was playing against SonicFox in DBFZ.

I wonder if you could plug in Ruby Heart on that last team. With Ruby Heart's power up assist, Ryu's Shin Shoryuken does 80% on average health characters.

I love this. When I was in highschool this game just came out and it was huge in the arcades back when arcades were still a thing. My main team ended up being my low tier team just because it was so fun to play. It was Strider, Megaman, and Ken. I, of course, had a Magneto, Storm, and Psylocke or Sentinel, Cable, and Psylocke up my sleeves but never pulled it out after I found Strider.

I love the final justice super so it's cool to know it can be linked into another super after so many years lol

The youngins dont realize how many strong gimmicks and how broken this shit was. THAT Tron Boone assist is bringing back nightmares that shit does so much damage on block too...

One of my all-time favorite low-tier setups is to have Gamma Servbot with a battery and Blackheart's anti-air assist (or another large coverage assist; since Blackheart himself isn't low tier). It's not a PERFECT lockdown, but basically, with Gamma Servbot Rush, the block damage is gigantic. It's basically the same exact damage as if the move actually hits. So, if you can force someone to block on the ground as you activate the super, you do a crapton of chip damage with almost no risk. And if they take hit, they also eat the assist. Obviously the god-tier rushdown characters beat this, but especially for the more average and/or zoning characters, this works insanely well. For double embarrassment, you can use Roll as the battery, since she can mash out double-jump axe kicks and Flower Bombs over and over again. It's stupid, but you'd be surprised at how legit it can be.

I know him from MVC 2 combo videos back in the day but I had no idea he was a tournament player who actually had a team named after him!! I still remember that Cammy combo where you chain them into the launcher, perform the aerial combo, do the super, run up to them and hit with a low kick low fierce when they're on the ground and do the Ariel combo over again finishing with another super... By the way does anyone out there know where I can find Mike z combo videos? I searched KZfaq but I couldn't find any...

Thanos design is so unappealing once you get used to "modern" Thanos.

god i miss playing this game in the arcade... i miss the days of playing my team of Jugg, Omega Red, and Iron Man. Another triple super insta-kill at full health. The Iron Man super holds them close so all of the omega red super hits instead of it pushing them away. I even have a combo with Juggernaut that can sometimes kill a full health opponent with the use of one super.

Team I used to use was Colossus, Spiral, Thanos/Zangief. Colossus has the ability to otk. Spiral is a strong lock up character due to her multi-hits. Also her throw super is nice since it is an unlockable is you know how to connect. Thanos actually has the ability to double chain supers for otk also, and Zangief also with his ability to otk with a combo super, or at least turtle break with his command throws. This is not even mentioning the nasty assists you can utilize.

Always appreciate some low tier teams. There's alot of fun characters in the low-mid tiers. Anakaris, son son and Tron bonne/Jill is a personal favourite of mine. Son son as the point Rushdown, Anarkis for ground control and for grappling, (also Son son/Anarkis of course) and Tron bonne as zoner plus a ranged assist

That took me back to when I played Marvel 2 in front of my dad at an arcade a few years back the team I played was Geif, Ryu, and Cyclops little did I know that it can be a busted Low tier team with Cap on it. This game has amazing music

Thanos is pathetic compared to how powerful he was in the comics. He used to take on the whole Avengers single handedly in many instances. He also looks totally wrong, like a cartoon. It certainly wasn't a Thanos fan that drew him or gave him moves. He is supposed to have good fighting prowess as well as raw power that could beat the Silver Surfer.

The Iron Zangief and Dark Sakura is all I play this game for now. Zangief's lariat assist is amazing and D. Sakura's teleport is invulnerable.

One of those oddball things to know about any of the AOE supers. If you land your Silver Samurai electric ult or Standing Omega Red etc when you get them crossed up & they are behind you. OOOOF... they would normally get knocked back by that ult... when crossed they pull you in & do a TON more dmg. Try it out. You say you can't combo off the Cap Anti-air assist try short jumping into the assist so when you would normally whiff over their head you knock them out of the knock up mid air. Timing is tough but it can be done. As for the Ryu air super... you know you can link those back to back right? Just like Black Heart's air super.

Hulk can do 90 -100% double crush combos with the right assist or when the opponent is at the right position above Hulk.
