That’s an outside looking In perspective. I think because they’re very clearly friends in real life, it’s harder to see when someone’s expressing their pain. This is why Therapists, etc, aren’t supposed to see people they’re close to because it’s hard to be impartial.

I love Jo Koy. He's hilarious!! But I'm disappointed charla dismissed him like that about Netflix. They were being racist and thought he couldn't cross over because "ppl can't relate because of his voice". Also, there are many Asians and Hispanics who do feel unseen in the U.S. because it's like if it's not white or black there's no in-between. So I get it. I have a love hate relationship with The breakfast club because of things like what just happened when Jo was trying to express something that every black person in that room understood firsthand. We know what it is to try to be in the industry or be in the industry and people won't say why they won't really work with you. For Charlemagne to keep joking and acting like he didn't know what it was when Joe was talking about his mother's accent and why Netflix would not pick his special and you can hear the emotion in that man's voice over something that we know is very real it was absolutely insulting. Charlemagne is too old to be that emotionally immature. And for that to be the conversation it's been for years it shouldn't have been it's jokey especially when the comedian wasn't joking.

I LOVE Jo Koy! He is hilarious, humble and just seems to be such a good person. I was so excited when I saw this interview pop-up on my KZfaq feed. Unfortunately, Charlamagne's unprofessional, insensitive and just plain BAD jokes almost overshadowed the beautiful and difficult life story that Jo Koy tried to share about his journey. I'm a Black woman, but I have full awareness and understanding that Black people aren't the only group that experiences systemic racism and prejudice. Charlamagne should be ashamed of himself for being completely and ignorantly dismissive of the blatant continual racism that Asians and many other races are subjected too. You take away from the validity of Black people's experiences with racism, when you dismiss and laugh at the painful racist experiences of other races. Racism is racism. Charlamagne does NOT represent us. Jo Koy, I hope you are able to be treated with RESPECT, EMPATHY AND KINDESS in future interviews because you DESERVE it. Oh man Joe was spot on man I don’t have words to express what he says about hospitals but he is so right my best friend is a nurse she’s a black nurse and she will tell you that hospitals have great Filipino nurses working there and her number one complaint was on some of these hospital shows she doesn’t see any of these people. I mean never mind the fact that most of these hospital shelves don’t look like actual emergency rooms that’s a whole different story.

Why did CharlaMouth laugh when he told the STORY about the kid making Hurtful Asian noises hurting Joe’s Mama’s feelings!?? Would they find it funny if it were his Mama and they made Monkey sounds and scratched under his arms!? HE WAS A CHILD, AND CHARLA IS COMPLETELY OUT OF LINE FOR LAUGHING AT THIS, NOT EFFECTIVELY LISTENING AND DISMISSING HIM!!! I see Angela being 1/2 Asian isn’t laughing at all but they need to check Charla when he dismisses racial hate towards Asians. ThiS Man is an accomplished Comedian/Entertainer and a damn GUEST on your damn show, show some damn respect!!!
