The Empire Theatre in Leicester Square was the magnet that drew a vast crowd of Londoners, who went to see all they could of those attending the Royal Film Performance. Many well known stars and personalities of the film world assembled in the theatre. The big moment was the arrival of the Queen and the Royal party. Her Majesty was received by the President and Chairman of the Cinematograph Trade Benevolent Fund, Mr Reginald Bromhead. The Queen accepted a bouquet from six year old Nicholas Douglas-Morris, before she proceeded to take her place for the performance of "The Battle of The River Plate".
