Her voice absolutely kicked asses back then. Singning is not about just being technically perfect, but about feeling and personality. Joan's voice was colorful. That's something that many singers lack. A personal texture.

The great thing about music MISTER WHEAT is that we can enjoy it from the perspective of what it means to us as individuals. We don't have to hear music from the perspective of the collective majority. I believe that she represents her generation of singers and musicians as well as anyone. Her voice is great regardless of record sales or number of chart topping songs.
