Want a good recipe for soul music? Here's what you do: Start with vocalist, Joan Osborne, Keith Cotton on Piano, and add a good, solid dose of The Holmes Brothers (Sherman Holmes, Wendell Holmes and Popsy Dixon). Live in the KPLU Seattle Studios on April 19, 2013.

She has one of the best voices I have ever heard…I love her ! Such a shame so few of her songs got any air play.. I guess people would rather hear the crap that is passing for music in 2023 than listen to someone who has real talent!! Thank goodness for sites like this.

I remember her second single on Relish, "St. Theresa" blowing me away even if it did nothing like "One of Us" did. She's been blowing me away constantly over the years. What a talent!

And what is very important: according to my memories, with the exception of Chuck Berry, I had no luck hearing a real black musician in Hungary. Except for Holmes Brothers in Budapest on the A38 around 2009. Well: it was amazing to hear them up close, to see them. \\ "Power of Soul \\" ... They had a big impact on me. I’ve loved their music a lot ever since. I welcome the Gentlemen. For the time being from Hungary.

Joan was born in the wrong decade. In the era of real music, they would have built churches for her. Now she's completely underrated. But hey, still a Goddess so whatever.
