I was a radio DJ in the early/mid 80s. I had a blues show, and a good library to pick from. Joanna Connor was there. She was not this good back then. Not even close. But GOD DAMN she has grown into the music, and it's so good to hear this. One of the best on the planet.

I don't even consider myself a blues fan but she is so fun to watch! I have seen this video dozens of time and I don't get tired of it. There is something about watching someone do something that they just love to do that is exciting; at least sometimes (bowling being an exception ;-).

Underrated guitar player...

I grew up being taken to see a lot of the more prominent blues and folk artists of the day perform, including Mississippi John Hurt, and have lived through the entire proliferation of white blues artists that we have seen since the Sixties. I think back to all those English "living legends" of the blues who had "Paid Their Dues" with a certain degree of amusement. I never heard of this babe before-- Lake County, California is, um, culturally deprived (euphemism--we're so poor nobody comes here to play anymore). But this lady puts every one of those British poseurs (and their American imitators) totally under the table. I am one hundred per cent totally gobsmacked. This lady knows something about God, or she could not play like that.
