I beg to disagree about the purpose of multiple rounds of interviews - it is designed to cover up the lack of real jobs, give bloated HR depratments work, while feeding their egos with legions of desperate candidates trying and second guessing themselves, what should have they done betters, where did it go wrong, etc. And all for the jobs that either do not even exist, or were already fixed. Its like a modern version of X-factor. Such a waste of valuable human capital.

A HUGE tip from someone who has been in the design industry for YEARS. DO NOT DO FREE WORK FOR A JOB POST. If social media, KZfaq, etc is your thing and you do it well you have links and a portfolio. You are not a multi-million dollar agency with lawyers. If the hiring manager can't accept your portfolio move on. There are places that will post these job listings and then use the ideas they collect. You ask each designer to do 5 sample designs and you have just 10 applicants--- you have 50 weeks (or more) worth of content. DO NOT give your work away for free.

Be wary of this in person as well. I was at a grocery some weeks ago and a woman close in age complimented my hair - we had a brief exchange about that then she asked if I was working or interested in another job. I mentioned I was looking for something remote. We exchanged numbers and 3 different people called me twice and NONE of them left messages 🚩🤦🏽‍♀️ I thought that was weird. She then followed up with a call some days later asking if I wanted to go to this event (for the job) - honestly it was giving MLM or scam so I told her I didn’t think it’d be a good fit for me 😭 especially since I wanted something remote - I don’t want to attend meetings/events etc. Last time I give out my # 😂

No Job should require you to provide ssn and other identification unless you're already working, typically you can provide these info like within 2 weeks of your job for payroll. 1. you don't wire out or buy anything. 2. you don't provide identification other than what you normally would on a resume. 3. you don't dl things (this is related to potential cyber attack).

Never ask for my social??? Hmmm, most retail jobs REQUIRE this info and they haven't even interviewed. Better yet, they need you to fill out the WOTC beforehand. Scam

They’re violating the law - you _NEVER_ have to provide that information until you’ve been hired and you’re filling out your new employee paperwork.

Oh seriously come on you're telling me I need a job because I need money. And you are asking me for money where do you expect me to get it from? I would know something not right thanks but no thanks

The biggest Red Flag they can't mention on TV: If they have an Indian accent or Tagalog accent.

There's absolutely nothing worse than when you call customer service and it's that incredibly annoying tagalog accent. Always polite but usually clueless, after waiting on hold for 40 mins. My staff now hangs up the phone once they hear the accent and then call back hoping to get an American next time! Never mind the chickens and the screaming goats in the background!!!

Quiet on the set! The talking and yelling in the background is so distracting and unprofessional. Of what I did catch, much of this sounds like 'avoiding scammers' tips for email & such - just apply it to job hunting realm.

I was almost scammed. An employer said they were paying $300 in cryptocurrency every night as a strip dancer. I knew it was too good to be true as soon as they asked for my social security number.

Sad that employers face no consequences for this. Self-employment keeps looking more and more attractive, as CEO's/HR rig the job search process.

@@frankiecarrrierivg03 Idk what type of self employment you're talking about. You should hire a better tax preparer if you're always owing. Your tax preparer should be making sure you get all deductions and credits available for business owners/self employed.
