Can you redo this video importing the csv file we get from the description. Have done it and have done it a certain way hoping it would be similar to how you would set it up. I like the jobs and have started adding my own. Thank you again

Great vid man, tons of valuable info here. I’ve been in business for 7 years but am just now looking into stuff like this. I’m not very tech savvy so I love always done it by hand. Love the idea of having all this in one place. In instances where you may be working with a homeowner so you print these estimates out and five them a physical copy? Or do you get an email and do it that way? A lot of my clients are 55+ so I’m not sure if this will be efficient for me, only thing I’m worried about
@bulletproofhandyman

I never work for homeowners. At least it's so rare that it's only maybe twice a year under special circumstances. I have never print it out a copy and handed it to somebody but that would work just fine if you wanted to do it that way. Obviously as you already know, it's just extra time that you have to spend driving and delivering paperwork. I do think that it's easy enough to use that. Even someone who was not tech savvy would still be able to quickly figure out how to approve the estimate. They would receive a text message or an email, whichever you choose, and there would be a button to view the estimate. If they push that button it will come up and they can read it just like they would read it on a PDF. At the bottom there's a button to approve and all they have to do is click the button and then they might have to sign if you included that requirement when you set it up. They could also just open it on their phone or email and read it and then call you and tell you that it's approved.

Do you ever charge for parts like the snap ring in this video? I know this is an example but lets just say they needed a light bulb or their sink is leaking and you had to replace some fittings and some pvc or they needed a new sink faucet is this just included in your hourly charge? Im assuming if they needed a whole new toilet that is something they are paying for but curious about the little items.
@bulletproofhandyman
@bulletproofhandyman 11 ай бұрын
The only thing I don't charge for is perhaps something that only required a couple screws. Otherwise if I utilize my materials then I charge some small amount for them. I don't try to make profit on materials but I do try to make sure I'm reimbursed for their purchase price and for the small amount of time I put into purchasing them and storing them.

If I do work at a building for a property manager, do I have to make a customer account for each apartment? I may do work at 5 different apartments in the same building and I need to submit individual invoices to the property manager.
@bulletproofhandyman
@bulletproofhandyman 8 ай бұрын
And jobber you would have the one customer who manages the apartments and then underneath that customer you would have multiple properties. So unit number 27 would be a property, unit number 38 would be a property, unit number 42 would be a property. Each property manager or client can have as many separate properties as you need. Once you create the property and the system, if you return to that property in the future it will still be set up in your system so you won't have to set it up over and over again.

When I get a call and have to go give an estimate is there a way to schedule that visit? Do I add that visit as a job? Or is there a way to schedule a quote?

Routing looks terrible on Jobber. Great video will rewatch
@bulletproofhandyman
@bulletproofhandyman 8 ай бұрын
I don't suppose I have an opinion either way on how I think the routing looks. I suppose it could look better but it definitely gets the job done with the shortest distance driven throughout the day. For the most part I'm usually using that feature just for the bird's eye view of where all the jobs are located so I can schedule them on blocks on different parts of town. Count the video is useful and thank you for the comment.

Man im just starting to try and sophisticate myself and do something similar to what mr duke is doin. I know this video is old, but maybe someone can chime in. I dont have much for starting capital, so ive been printing invoices, just to practice, with my existing clients. My handwriting is atrocious, this cant work professionally, especially in regards to record keeping. My question is this. Knowing nearly nothing about running a business, just gettin my foot in the door, i realize the importance of good software. I cant afford both jobber and quickbooks right now. I feel like accounting can go on the back burner for now, what i need is a functioning business. Yall think i should grab a jobber account and worry about quickbooks later when i can afford it?

It's not you, there was a batch that was off. It was hell getting it fixed, but the most recent and then future videos should all be straight. I'm curious if you felt that this video was off? I'm going to go rewatch it after I finish this reply, but with this one I actually taught myself how to use Adobe Premiere Pro to sync it. I hope you find the future content to be better.

I've learned the hard way that even expensive webcams with a new computer still don't work well. I'm looking into more professional equipment so that I can set up a little permanent studio but it will be a while. That stuff gets super expensive, far more than I can afford right now. I'll do my best to get them straightened out in the meantime. No offense taken, I need to know when these things aren't fixed yet.

How or why is Jobber better than Square?
@pauldardeau5532

@@crazyfoodjunky9233 I don't think one is a replacement for the other. Square is for credit card payments. Jobber is for quotes, jobs, and invoices.
