As NZ borders open to the rest of the world, I will suggest possible jobs to help incoming students settle. An increasing number of people went to know the possibilities of funding their own studies while studying in NZ. As much as you need to provide proof of funds before you get your student visa, there are also jobs you can secure to ensure you do not deplete or touch your savings while studying. Below are list of jobs that can help you achieve your dream:
1)Support worker/caregiver
2)Cleaner
3)Call center job
4)Security jobe
5) Supermarket jobs.

Hello Juliet Thank you for your insightful videos. I just chanced on your KZfaq channel and I must this a rare video to find since most people are looking to study in the Europe and Americas. My question is; I have gained admission to Auckland University of Technology for a one-year master’s degree. Do I need to pay all fees before applying for a visa even though the deadline to pay some of the fees is 3 days before my program start date? Secondly, is it possible for someone to pay a fees of NZ$53k tuition fees? Thank you in advance!

What I know is that the duration of your student visa would be to the time you paid up to. Regarding, full or partial payment, your chosen university would advise you on that.

Hello siz, thanks for this dishing out vital content about NZ here. Not so easy find such content on KZfaq. Am currently applying for PhD in Lincoln University and I want to ask if you know how the scholar grade point for reviewing transcript in NZ works. Also, what's the current median wage for applying for residency in NZ after PhD. Am aware NZ minimum wage is now $21+ but I want to know if this is the minimum wage to apply for residency after PhD. Thanks

NZ have a body called NZQA which asses overseas qualification to ascertain the NZ equivalence. At the level you went to study, I would say you might not need this assessment if you get a supervisor whose interest aligns with yours. After getting a supervisor, your Normal transcript and other documents will be handled by admission team of the school for possible offer. Minimum wage is the least legal amount any employer should pay per hour which is smaller than median wage. Both increases here yearly for the couple of years I have been living here. Finally, you need to be intentional about your choosen career (research )if you're looking at possible PR after studying. I have done a video on green list occupations, pick something in that area and trust the process.

It depends on the school, but the length of your student visa would be for the duration you paid for.

If your grades are good I see why not, otherwise you would be required to enroll for diploma before M.Sc.

Do a background research on the 8 universities in Nz, then tailor it down to the one you went to attend. Go on the website of the university you have chosen and start contacting professors whose interest aligned with yours. This how people I know got PhD positions here which include my hubby.
