+NK Jumper; Well that;s not what happened. Why cant you people just be happy there was a Triple Crown? and honesty the AP dissing is ridiculous. Silver Charm was born years ago, want them to change ages???; This year yeah right! I really don't understand , why so many people don't like AP or is it the owners.

beating the likes of Bayern and I didn't root for AP(and that was difficult for me being I am a huge Secretariat fan and AP is his Great great Grandson). I can deal with Zayats who were loud, that's them. Part that put me off a"needing a restbout AP was the races his owners avoided as to not blemish his record. Both races I am mentioning because these were races AP was able to run in and didn't 2015 Pacific Coast Classic vs Beholder, the Race everyone wanted to see and won in 159.77 beating most of the best older horses in the country including Bayern who was at he top of his game. 2015 Whitney stakes - Liams Map, the speedball (who won the Breeders cup mile), and an all star field Honor Code, Normandy invasion, Tonalist and others. This race AP never would have seen the lead vs Liams map, and if he did eventually get it he never would have held off Honor Code. Thats why Zayat avoided that race. 2015 Travers, the one Race where AP was pushed, Frosted stalked him, Keen Ice caught him. I'll give you the horse may have been tired from the campaign at that point, but if he ran those other races, at least he would have not backed down from the best that year. As much as BCC was a joke, Beholder scratching sick, smooth roler, only other horse resembling any speed scratched, it becae a walkover for AP, not his fault, but thats why you run against the best whenever you can. That's how I feel and sadly for racing, the one little part of me that was rooting for AP to win the TC was because it maybe would get interest in the game and put it back on the map. Almost two years later, it doesn't seem it has.

It's more that he was part of a mediocre crop and just got lucky. Silver Charm or Point Given were just as good. A Triple Crown is as much about racing luck as about superior talent.

I agree and I mention crop sizes in toer places as part of it. InSilver charm foaled, the crop number was 1994- 32,118. AP 2012 foal year was 21,463. That is always a part of it.

The grays do. They are born a base color such as black or brown, and they lose that color as they age.

Grays do. Others stay the same color. My 1 thoroughbred was born black, at 3, he was iron gray. By 20 he was almost all white.
