Love that her eyebrows lift with the intonations and as appropriately as if she were speaking English.

Nope You’re Not Entitled I noticed that too. She speaks with her eyes.

The Queen, She dubs herslef in French in all movies or shows she does, fun fact the reels of contact we can watch inserted here, are at 30 fps , not 25 fps , that is why all voices are a bit speedier than if you watch contact in French nowadays .

Contact is one of rare movies who she doesn't dubbed herself. It is not is voice in the movie's sequences but its of Julie Dumas.

@@SeijuroHiko-vx3lw Wouaahh , you are 100% right , it's clearly so similar with her own voice that i didn't noticed a difference at all... i'm so suprised it's not her in this one, cos she really wants to dub her own voice usually .

Jodie Foster's French is accentless: superb! My Parisian friends confirm it.

She speaks French even better than a regular young French these days.

Accent-less certainly yet not flawless; she confuses the gender of the word siècle (it's masculin not feminine). She says la raison pourquoi instead of la raison pour laquelle I think there are a couple of other little things. That being said, as someone who grew up in France (my parents are British, hence I grew up bilingual) I still very much admire her (almost) flawless French and respect her as an actress and an intelligent human being who appears to act with dignity and discretion When I see the journalists wetting themselves over Bradley Cooper's "fluent" (don't get me started) French, it's evident that Jodie doesn't get half of the respect and admiration she deserves;

"l'ont répondu" instead of "y ont répondu". "le bible" when its supposed to be "la bible". "m'a rendu mieux" should be "m'a rendu meilleur". But her accent is flawless, she sounds like a parisian lady who lives in those fancy neighbourhoods. Even looks like one.

@@bradleycranwell8585 la raison pourquoi is absolutely fine these days. It's like saying somebody's English is flawed because they split infinitives. Native speakers do that left and right.

@@bradleycranwell8585 Je suis certaine que si elle avait pratiqué son français régulièrement, ces erreurs grammaticales auraient été corrigées avec le temps mais c'est seulement lorsqu'elle va en France qu'elle pratique la langue.

... Cannes Festival France ... Jodie Foster... Catherine Bouman, blackhole ^^ ?!... De'Wilhelm Prinzip... Du Parallèle... Sensationnel ! ... Vraiment relativement simple; mais hyperefficace...
