Gosh! Listen to that 26 year old young woman! I defy anyone here to find a young actor these days that intelligent, that articulate. She's truly one of a kind.

The Accused is a very underrated and unappreciated movie, they don't want to recognizes it because of the subject of rape which is what is in this movie. It's about a woman who was gang raped by three men in a bar where lots of people either ignored her cries, encouraged the rape to go on and just watched with amusement. Then when she wants justices she is given less because her social status, her education and character and personality is deemed as "questionable" or otherwise unbelievable.

The Accused certainly one of the most well aged films from the 80s/90s period, not to mention that National Board of Review named it the 3rd best film of 88 but it's ridiculous that the Oscars snubbed the movie in general with obvious exception being Jodie

God she is so eloquent, capable of a mature analysis of a very challenging role playing Sarah.

Yeah I think it has lots to do with social conditioning regarding violence against women in general it's taboo not even polite to discuss same as domestic abuse but even in public something like what happened to Sarah people would look the other way or blame the victim because it's unspoken or often spoken the male is superior. It's soft core sharia law womens rights and protections are just on paper not enforced may as well not exist and leaving an abuser puts them at a greater risk if they file charges complain embarrass them women get stalked often killed after leaving.
