His father had almost exactly the same frame. He ended up having back problems for several years before retiring. His height made it difficult to keep his back healthy.

The Giants should draft this guy. Move Evan Neal to guard. Draft Joe Alt to play RT. Keep Andrew Thomas at LT. The Giant's line is dreadful. Just keep throwing picks at it until you draft another 10+ year talent. Andrew Thomas is that good. They just need to solidify the RT. Giants OL in 2023 was the lowest ranked OL in the past 5 seasons according to PFF. Real bad. It didn't help that Andrew Thomas was injured and missed a bunch of games.

If Bill Belichick is still making the picks for NE in the 2024 draft, I see Joe Alt being his guy in Rd 1. Now, QB is their #1 needs, even with some late season juice from Bailey Zappe, but no one likes mountainous, long, athletic, experienced, scheme diverse, fundamentally sound OT's more than him. OT is also a need for them.

@@TheMockDraftGuy He leans too far forward; susceptible to swims, spins, counter club/pull slide. 4:11, 4:31, 4:40 (holding), 5:15 (though by design he’s meant to go in he’s reaching too far) 5:55 (he’s leaning again) 6:19 (the guy is too small to beat him but Shaq Lawson would pull him to the ground. bills and Patriots will run stunts on him all day) Personal experience (12 years ago) I went to the same High school as Flozell Adams (stopped by to visit us since our HC was good friends with him) and one of the things he taught me was not extend myself into the rusher because he’s 6’7” the rusher then becomes the fulcrum. “That’s how Dwight (freeney) keeps making mothafuckers look stupid” He’s an absolute unit but if I can reduce his need to reach, he’ll be in a better position to succeed. +30-50lbs and he’s an absolute wall. Very good hands and locking in on the opponent, double team work is chefs kiss and the ability to seek the block in the open field is wonderful. It’s nitpicking but the league even watches when qbs breath to determine the count.

Modern NFL tackles do much more open field blocking on WR screen and outside zone plays. I wonder how well he would do with that because you dont see him attempt it much on college film.

There’s a huge debate in chargers fans on should we choose Alt/Bowers vs Nabers/bowers. IMO I would rather go Nabers or bowers cuz I feel that’s what we need more but the you can give some counter points to my opinions feel free to let me know!

I honestly think fauga from Oregon st may be better for us especially if we land Harbaugh and become a more smash mouth football team…. Fuaga is also a natural RT which is perfect so slater can stay at left.
