Indeed roll the tears for me because I missed ALL THAT!! :( I was born in ‘78 so I had access to HBO, Showtime, & Cinemax with 1 channel each (no need for 17 different HBO channels cuz kids actually went outside back then & there was better stuff on that 1 HBO channel!) & that was with a black box (which sat on top of the floor model TV) with a round silver dial in the center of it. Unfortunately I didn’t see Joe Bob AT ALL until he was on Shudder. I’d seen many of the movies he’s hosting , but a LOT LESS. I 🖤 Joe Bob in a I-wish-he-was-my-uncle type of way! The drive in will never die!!!! I live 20min from one of the last functioning Drivers-in Theatres in Georgetown, IN. It looks just like the one he opens each shutter episode in front of. There’s even a blue ‘57 Chevy mounted on top of the Non-Digital sign where a person climbs up there & changed out the plastic lettering, as Joe Bob would say “as the good Lord intended”. And if you’re still reading, yes, I also love his rants. If anyone knows how I can really get in touch with him, please reply. Thanks!!!!

TNT didnt steal anything, they hired John Bloom for his Joe Bob persona to spice up the Monstervision label in 1996 after he was let go by TMC. John used this unapologetic Texan character before he was even hired by TMC in 1986.

What's crazy about this clip is that Joe Bob talks about Bruce Campell directing The Man With The Screaming Brain. That didn't get made until 2005. So that's how long that thing lingered in development hell.

I really enjoyed corresponding with Joe Bob and he sent me IRON JOE BOB. I subscribed to his zine and he liked my whacky zines and videos. I feel sorry for his ex-wife, it was messy, but he was very funny! I never had pay TV so never saw any of this, so thanks! Greetings from France via the USA. My French husband loved a drive in movie on Cape Cod in 2000.

Actually, Joe Bob at the Drive in was this show on the movie channel. The TBS version was called "Monstervision" and (at least initially) centered more around horror/gore/slasher/splatter flims before adventuring more into general b-movie stuff.
@youdontmatter2me4 жыл бұрын
On Shutter (currently) however, we get the best of both worlds! I mean the episode lists are great. One show has ‘Chopping Mall’ as the first movie on one of his shows & Exorcist III was in there too. Great stuff, totally worth the Shudder subscription. Ok Friday the 13th in July 2018 the lineup was kickass! It started with Tourist Trap as ep.1 but also had Sleepaway Camp (with “Angela” as a guest for the entire movie!), David Cronenberg’s Rabid, The Prowler, Re-Animater (yay!), & also Hellraiser...but he closed it out with B-movie splendor with ‘Pieces’. I think that’s a perfect line up (I didn’t list everything cuz I’m 😴 sleepy) but that season aired 7/13/18.
@acceptthis0113 жыл бұрын
Army of Darkness was supposed to out in 1992 but was pushed back as Universal wanted to cut the film down to a PG-13 and change the ending (the latter did happen). However, the film was too violent for a PG-13 was released with an R rating.

Hey I ❤ snoppy. Dawn of the dead & night of the living dead, granted they are not as gross & gorey. Except for the remake of dawn of the dead. What nasty movie that was. But neither here nor there. The point is its all a matter of preference, each movie is a classic in its own way. All are equally as good. When Joe bob is wrong he is so wrong. Chill out dude.
