I can’t believe how many thumbs down joe got for this lovely little song, to some it’s very meaningful to those who relate it to someone they have lost . This generation of talented musicians are dying out and the generation of today don’t get it unless there’s some kind of electronic beat box or sample machine which is sad. A credit to joe brown for an amazing true Britain performance.

The sad truth is that we have talented young musicians today as well. But they never get a contract by the "mainstream" music industry or at least very rarely`?

For someone who worked in the music industry for years (US record labels and management), it pains me to admit that Joe Brown had never come on my radar. Then, I saw him perform this song as the closing performance of the Concert For George. I was in a heap of tears on the sofa. It was SO beautiful and perfect for remembering the 'quiet Beatle'. Having taken up the ukulele last year (and knowing George's love of the instrument), I committed then and there to learning this wonderful tune . It's not a beginner's song but every minute I've spent hashing out the chord changes has been worth it. It's now one of my favorite songs of all time. Thank you Joe for honoring the beloved Mr. Harrison with such grace and charm. You're a gem!!

Joe is a wonderful musician and a real showman. I have grown up with his music (and others) from the 50s and 60s and in my opinion, they don't do it like that any more, mores the pity. Sing on for many more years Joe your kind will not be seen again. Johnny Kidd, Freddie, and the Dreamers, Gery Marsden, and the rest of the British invasion stay with me from my childhood, never beaten or replaced.

It must have been in the late 1950s. Me and a couple of mates were walking along the sewer bank (very large pipes covered over with turf) one morning and this lad came along with some greyhounds. Never spoke, just nodded and I thought, "What a great haircut". Some years late I saw Joe onstage and it was the same bloke same haircut. Wish I'd said hello and we might have had a few words. My loss.

Joe first met George Harrison on tour in the early 60's, Joe was higher on the bill. He saw George using his guitar. He wasn't best pleased, and told him so. They became great friends. of course, Joe closed The Concert For George' with this song. A fine musician and looks better every time you see him.

I lived in London back in the very early 60's and Picture of You was a big hit. I've never forgotten it, never forgotten Helen Shapiro's Tell Me What He Said, either, and I periodically come back to KZfaq to listen to both and remember wonderful times, wonderful times and the Cuban Missile Crisis! Ha!

🍀🇺🇸🌿 I too just discovered Joe since he wasn't part of the amazing British Invasion here in the 60's. He truly is a GEM!💗 So happy when his mates joined hands for their own goodbye and how the audience roared their approval. The last 2 guys raising their hands as they left the stage was a special bonus! I love them all!💗
