Hero Round Table

6 жыл бұрын

Joe talks about his experiences in filming seven seasons of Impractical Jokers, lessons from growing up, and being a fan while also interacting with fans. Key lessons were:
- To Fathers & Sons: Be a Gentleman or Raise a Gentleman.
- Surround yourself with good people, even if that means being alone for a period.
- How conducting social experiments in public has made him a fan of people's capacity for kindness and humour.
Filmed at Hero Round Table Michigan in October 2017.

“I spent a good two years of my life with no friends. And that’s good because there was nobody worthy of my friendship and nobody worthy of being in my circle.” 👏👏👏👏 that was good Joe

He said many contradictory things in this interview. Lifelong friends but two years with no friends? What happened to the other guys

@@famousstranger8468 they all had their own lives and friends. Sal was a bartender worked in finance had his own friends, murr worked in television, q was a firefighter all with their own friends and lives. They jus happened to meet on a boat again i believe and murr sal and joe formed the tenderloins, which eventually added q and became the impractical jokers

Love Joe! Thank you for posting this, even though i'm watching much later than it was posted. Hearing him talk about friends fading in and out and noticing the ones who are always showing up is something I needed to hear as a 30 year old who has been definitely having my circle of friends changing from the past decade... seeing those who are still here and those who decided to fade out. It's tough to accept but he's right, the ones who have chosen to stay active in my life are the ones worth thinking about.

He's speaking not to hit emotional highs and create "you go girl!" moments, but he's speaking to actually connect with people's real experiences or expectations of their futures in a serious manner. When done properly there shouldn't be any applauding except for at the very end as a 'thanks for coming' farewell. You saw how short for time they already were in this very clip - which stories and examples and messages from Joe would you choose to have to cut so we can hear the audience slapping their hands together repeatedly instead?

I didn't feel anything weird from the host. Did you have any examples? Personally I really liked how the host didn't try to take up 50% of the talk time like many interviewers do talking about their feelings and experiences and opinions on things - the interview is to draw those things OUT of the guest speaker who is only available for a limited amount of time, and he seemed to do that really well IMO.
