Great song. Funny thing is, I never liked it as a kid, but now I have grown up It's a Fantastic song. So many memories. I remember it was really big in the 80's. Pure Gold.

I was an oldies fan from the very beginning of the 80s. I never became a huge fan of 80s music in general but so much of it was better than the 90s or any of the garbage since. Some songs like this one still have a pre-80s flavor although the beat is definitely 80s. Same goes for a lot of Billy Joel tunes and some other artists, Jackson Browne, etc.

I remember back in the beginning of the 80s when this song first came out the radio announcer said this was a great road song, good to listen to while driving and all. I was too young to drive at that time but as soon as I got my license I bought this cassette tape and lsitened to it for years on end in the car

Whenever I hear this song, it reminds of the winter of '82 in Chicago. I was 6 going 7 yrs.old and I can remember my sisters watching the music video for Stepping Out. Good memories! This song always puts me in a good mood

I used to two-step the shite out of this song…. You couldn’t tell me a thing back in the days, 😆. I busted a move (y’all can guess my generation from that saying alone, LOL); right in isle 6 @ Pathmark when this tune came on the PA system….
