Brings back good memories seeing this. I was in the children's choir when I grew up 3 times (twice in the same year two times), twice at the Theatre Royal and 3 times at the Empire theatre. 2003, 2004, 2005.

That mask is soo cool and is a tribute to the phantom of the opera but does make his face look a bit uneven

It at least gives them a reason to not recognize him, unlike the 1999 version where he doesn't even have a fake beard to represent that the bible version had one.

kadindarklord excuse me, are you talking about Donny Osmond!! That version was different cause as Donny said “it has to age from 18 years old all the way from 40 years old from a boy to a man” and it’s less dramatic when your not wearing a mask like Joe McElderry is but i prefer the 1999 version

4 years late, but isn't Ben James Ellis, one of the brothers? Didn't he played the Pharaoh at some point as well, did he play both roles at the same time?

Saw this show in May 2017 and on the way out, the only topic of conversation from everybody around, was "That costume"

It a reference to The Phantom of the Opera. Because the shale of the mask is what it was on phantom of the opera.

@@tiamasters507 it also doubles as a cover for Joseph’s face, so that his brothers don’t recognize him.

I love joe McElderry but I think the mask is too much because donny Osmond didn’t wear a mask!
