Sorry, I just have to write a quick note to Nomiki: On the off chance you read this, please understand the severity of the situation. This nonsense that Rogan is like running a political campaign just because her and her mother ran in politics is juvenile. Spotify is CLEARLY much larger than SiriusXM EVER was. And frankly, they were/are a large corporation -- able to write a $500M check to Howard Stern. Doesn't matter. As Sam points out, the numbers re: money are just preposterous for Spotify. They cannot be trusted to make the correct decision because they're making too much damn cash. What the f is Nomiki even doing in this video? "Wait for the market to react," is not exactly how I'd go after Rogan from a left-wing perspective. Idk. She was insufferable during this. Needs to be her last appearance on an important video. I know she's typically fantastic, but this was bad. Especially due to how many folks will watch this video due to Rogan's name attachment. *Frankly, though, at the end as Sam points out, it doesn't matter what Rogan thinks: he's officially a paid shill. Period.*

The Free Speech Center has a long article on Huckleberry Finn being censored you can look up if you aren't one of those cognitive bias types, and TKaM was first banned in about 1960. Point being, you're wrong in blaming "Democrats" here, both parties have routinely had issues with those two books. Peterson was saying that before claiming something is a systemic issue, we should evaluate an individual instead of a group so that we don't immediately create bad stereotypes. Sam argued against this, and said it was dumb to believe things shouldn't be evaluated on the group level. Specifically CRIME. Sam Seder said increased levels of crime shouldn't be seen as coincidence, and should be looked at by group. You have to be able to recognize the hotness of the take.

I used to listen to Rogan’s podcast 2 or 3 times a week. Mostly while I did household chores. I listened to it for variety. Usually listened to comedians, athletes, scientists. Never UFC stuff. There was a point at which he did an okay job at being a spectator to his own podcast, or at worst a rudder for the conversation. That time has long past. When Trump ran for office he would laugh at people who took him seriously, including his guests. Now he’s way too invested in a particular position to claim to be an unbiased observer and a “sponge”. I’m not going to hazard a guess as to what changed Rogan’s stance, other than to say it starts with an “M” and ends with “oney” So - yes, he has lost some audience. I do not listen anymore, not even to the episodes that draw me out of morbid curiosity.

He did have better guests, but I actually lost any modicum of respect I had for him when he just kept platforming some of the weakest minds and amplifying them as if they were actually intellectuals. Jordan pederson, Ben Shapiro, Gavin Mcinnes and so on. I was so impressed with the interview that I subscribed to his YT channel (I don't use Spotify. Don't listen to podcasts). Over a couple of months or so I watched more interviews (with credible people), not everyone he has on. The very first time I either heard him say, or one of his guests say complete BS which he did not attempt to correct in the slightest, I canned that subscription. Never been tempted to give him a minute of my time since. And this was BEFORE Covid. I just think history will be a harsh judge of him. Something like 'If only he'd used his intelligence for good instead of evil.' Keep up the good work. Cheers.

The public didn’t learn about the stroke for months, during which time his wife, Edith Wilson, was making most executive decisions. I think you are right. And I think "big pharma" are against psychedelics because it'll reduce dependence on SSRIs

Wow she just won't let that point go will she. You gotta know when to move on when you're doing a show. She just kept re-treading the same point and Sam kept disagreeing for like 5+ minutes.

Yeah, we all can get a little stuck. I think she had a foundational misunderstanding and she wasn't ready to be that far off

Dude right? She kept it going because she didn’t want to look wrong… which it would have been wayyyyy more digestible for everyone listening for her to just be like “oh word I’m wrong on this let’s move on”

@@Iplayfender1991 I was actually on a radio morning show for the better part of 4 years. Main host would ALWAYS gesture with his hand when I was accidentally taking too long with a story. At the time I’d be pissed off about it but in hindsight I realize it’s because he was trying to keep the pace of the show moving. It was quite the learning moment

5:33 - While in this particular case, it even turns out to be false because of someone not writing it correctly, often, this is what happens: People in the media in general (But particularly Right-Wingers who don't care about accuracy) either don't realize or don't care that, in science, the standard procedure is: When you make a discovery or think you are on the verge of *you publish your findings so that others may disprove or confirm them*! That IS the scientific method! So if a scientist or a university or any other organization say they found something: *It in NO WAY means that it has been PROVEN*! (Only that it is a possibility and that others need to confirm it) But again, a vast majority of media people will take these preliminary findings and make HUGE HEADLINES out of them as though it was proven beyond doubt *when it is NOT!* And then, when it gets disproven (As it often does), the same media people, rather than retract their own claim, will point to "science" and scientists in general and say "Ah! Well, you see: Science is wrong. Again!" and feed the anti-science sentiment amongst the population, even though it is the media that gets it wrong and should not have reported it as news until it was confirmed by other scientists! ... That is what happens when news media is under the capitalism system: It becomes more important to fill pages of paper and air time with sensational stories rather than provided concise and comprehensive information; and people like Rogan, Carlson, Blitzer, Besos and all the others are making millionaires out of themselves peddling misinformation as entertainment.

I really don't see how this has anything to do with white privilege. It's about money and pride.
