B randon for A lot of people have done things (on accident or on purpose) they feel ashamed of. Sometimes people will miss you but don’t know THAT much about you, at least not the negative things in your life . So it’s better for someone to miss you, but what they’re missing is almost a glorified image of you not the actual you because they’re lacking pieces to the puzzle that is YOU. When someone sees too much, they can get tired or give up. Less is more, essentially. Best we can do is learn from our mistakes and try to make less of them.

Easton - that's a fact. Hollywood makes us sick to death of good actors by overexploiting them until we are just over them in a few years. I reckon Norton isn't in it for the money the way so many actors are. He's quite a force of nature and he's not afraid of roles many others would duck out of.

Yes, because traditional Hollywood's idea of an "interview" is basically "OMG, you have a girlfriend, I hear!" + studio-driven agenda about how much an asshole he is when in reality he is just a dude that doesn't want to be controlled like that. I think. I could totally be wrong too, I never met the guy. But fuck Hollywood and their "let's make a comics movie every fucking month" mentality.

That's astute of you to notice. He is definitely a different type of interview for Joe, most just go thru from story to story, subject to subject and lost what it was that they they were trying to say. No one concludes a story by coming back to the original points anymore. We all speak at a faster pace and no longer really have longer form conversations about 1 particular subject. I think its why we have a lot of the problems we have today. Everyone wants to talk but no one wants to be listen. We're all too fast paced.

Damn, this dude never does interviews and this made me thinking... this kind of podcasts are so much better then the standard interview kind of shit you see on tonight-shows because you really kind of get to know the real person instead of hearing them talking and following some kind of script. Please have him come back, I really admire his work and to see and hear him talk is just amazing. He's a really conscious (or "woke" or whatever you want to call it) kind of guy. Again this is so much better than "interviews" which makes me play around with the thought of you having guys like.. maybe Nicholson? or dare I say Spacey? You know what I mean? Other "big guys" in acting.
@billybbob18
@billybbob18 4 жыл бұрын
I pretty much stopped watching typical TV around 10 years ago. I now notice that real "tv" interviews are infuriating to listen to compared to things like this. The constant interruptions and ad hominem in the media these days is disturbing. This show has none of that. I've seen a ton of Joe's vids and most are really good.

This works purely because Joe is smart enough and skilled enough to let a man talk about his thoughts on any subject he likes without interrupting. Edward Norton is at a level of superstardom where he probably gets used to 30 second soundbites on Jimmy Kimmel and the like, so being allowed to just talk relaxed him into revealing genuine deep, considered and measured thoughts. Result? An obviously clever and articulate man being allowed to express what makes him the actor he is. Joe simply manages the conversation without breaking the flow; and that takes great skill.

It’s so cool because Edward Norton never interviews and he was being rather candid here. What a neat look into a phenomenal actor’s mindset compared to other in the same field that seek out the attention. What a great interview.

Convenient how everyone you disagree with is uneducated. That way when they present you with the numerous factual ways you are wrong, you have the built in copout that they can't be educated because you disagree with them.
