I swear the best podcast moments are without the bodybuilders, mma, fighters, etc. No offense to them, they are great ppl who aspired greatness and pursued their dreams but it just doesn't exciting to have someone there for two hours talking about their upcoming fight, elbow and knee techniques and how drunk they got overseas.

There was certainly an influx of comedians after they tried to cancel Joe over his Sanders support. I give those shows a chance but I tend to lose interest in most comedian shows. Science keeps me subbed.

@@user-in4xs2fv8j I think so, I had some physics in high school, but nothing major. definitely not enough to read his book without a challenge, but he has an amazing way to explain the most difficult topics, in ways a layman can start to grasp these concepts, he uses a lot of comparisons to make you understand a concept. I read his book twice and I never stopped learning about astrophysics after that. That must have been about 20 years ago. now I am at a point I can not learn any more astrophysics without actually going back to school to learn the higher math you need to make some calculations, but apart from that, I think I can tell I know very much about what we know about the universe. and it was Brian who started this whole journey for me. I definitely recommend reading his books if you are interested you will learn without a doubt, even if you haven't had physics before. cheers

This episode is why I stick around the JRE podcast even on to Spotify. It’s guys like Brian, Bret and Eric Weinstein, and Graham Hancock that have reinvigorated my childhood interests in science and history.

It was especially important for me bc listening to the stupidity of our last president on a daily basis made me depressed. Totally agree! You really could feel the mood change, as Charlie said, they went from the usual mold of interviewer and intellectual to just two humans connecting over a very real common issue... I mean you could see the exhaustion and pain on brians face as he was talking about it, and you could definitely see the concern Joe had to do everything he could to help. I will say that I've heard of Lifespan and the procedure they are talking about and have to say it falls somewhat into the realm of fringe medicine not backed by science.... but i know you'll try anything when desperate enough.

Aside from him being or seeming so genuine, he has a wonderful command of the English language. Him being so well spoken makes it so much easier to comprehend his ideas, theories and facts he has to convey. Plus he doesn’t use “like” every other second like half of the human population these days.

@@g32.recitales I really liked NDT and watched a lot of his stuff. by the time I saw him on rogan, I was more invered in the science community, but at the same time was more open to ideas that aren't approved by science and his behavior completely put me off, although the topics were interesting, his attitude wasn't. he was just spewing random facts about any topic that came to his mind imo. and what made it even worse - he cut joe off all the time which made it seem as if he was thinking his words are worth more than joe's...not a good approach at promoting science to people in my opinion. a scientist, especially astronomers, should be humble about their intellect because they're continously reminded by their work of how little they actually know compared to what is in the universe. that's just my experience with science - it humbled me the more I learned
