While I love Bill experts and institutions like the CDC aren't the end all be all of knowledge. Those institutions are rife with cronyism like pretty much every institution in our country and because of that what is considered to be the general consensus is rarely challenged. We saw this happening with the CDC and WHO not telling people to wear masks up until a month after America went into quarantine when at that point we knew the virus was asymptomatic for two weeks and wearing a mask to contain the spread would've been just logical.

This is a common logical fallacy Bill uses to dismiss any argument that has knowledge he’s not aware of or is afraid of. Like doctors have some magical ability to understand facts the lay person just can’t comprehend. Really bone headed, anti-enlightenment thinking. It’s brutally stupid. Thousands are killed every year due to medical errors. “But but, you have a special white lab coat on... how could this have happened?”

Shredding Gnarly Harley yeah that’s right, Nia is Bill’s Yoko Ono. Maybe he would argue that she keeps him motivated somehow, but from all the podcasts I’ve seen her shut down, like she wants to own Bill’s voice, is just sad to witness. A mind as sharp as his, and a commentary so precise, is a very rare thing, and Bill is the uncontested king of reactionary and observational comedy. Hopefully Nia knows exactly how lucky she is to be riding the coattails because she is not nearly the Oprah she thinks she is.

Bill is probably smart enough to know that in the end, the CDC and WHO are full of shit as everyone else. He just has not been paying attention to how often they directly contradict themselves over time, so he is not seeing it in real time. They're either a governmental or an extra-governmental bureaucracy, where budget allocation concerns and syngergizing workflows are the primary concern. Collecting and publishing data, where 'experts' make semi-educated guesses as to what this data set may mean, medically. That is why they keep flip-flopping every month or so. It's not that new data suggests this or that, so much as the experts are making sure they're 'putting int he work' to meet their budget expectations, and issuing routine reports (that better not be reiterating what they've already said about it). So, they're just as full of shit as you or me, or Rogan or Burr. Do what you want, just be ready to accept the consequences for it. If enough people do that, then the 'experts' can get real long term data and actually factorize some statistically significant conclusions from it. They're sorta like cops, in that they suck at preventing crime, because their jobs are tailored around investigating it after it happened, to determine if someone should be charged with something.

Classic counterdependence. I love Bill’s honesty & he’s clearly doing a lot of work for the sake of his kids. Commendable. A nice surprise to hear a chat on emotional literacy from a wise crack. Fact is, if Bill had a happy childhood, he wouldn’t be the great comic he is. It’s often the case with high-performing artists, but especially so with Stand-Up. Bless Bill for being irreplaceabill 👏🏼

Coming back, Joe seems like he crossed a line in his mind and just gave in into his worldview he always had, but kept his mind open. He seems to push his 'agenda' for lack of better term on his guests, he never did that, except DMT. Now it's all sorts of political and social/cultural stuff. Love this comment. So right, these guys are two friends having great convo. Saying what the want to say, not holding back to be politically correct or any of that bullshit. They can disagree and continue great conversation. This is something a lot of people need to work on.
