makes sense the neck is apart of the head. control where they go. you are a puppet master pulling strings. I met a gi practitioner. i respect both. gi and no gi. but really in love with the dagestani wrestling and pressure. judo/sbo important too. sidenote. (I'm a boxer) im 32. god i wish i was 26 with this new obsession.

Looks like one or two punches could easily defeat rubber guard, its only effective if you're operating in the BJJ rules or using it on someone who can't fight

the exact opposite. I train MMA and Bjj and, even though i am just an amateur, i can tell you that rubber guard works much better in MMA. It is easier for the guy on top to get carried away and baited into throwing a few extra punches which get him in trouble. Being in closed guard in bjj is a position that you are constantly thinking "i got to get out of here", whereas in MMA you want to capitalize on the takedown you have just performed. Just my two cents, i am no expert.
