Joe Rogan started off collecting Rolex...really just like anyone else. However, his tastes quickly changed and he formed an amazing collection! What we love about his collection is that it shows his appreciation for watches and not his appreciation for showing off (which he easily could do and does in other ways). It's lovely to see someone collecting for the love of the hobby!!
Also of course we are going to touch on the watch that Joe Rogan gave to Lex Fridman.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic but my experience with him was he is a very approachable, and down to earth person. He talked on his show about Italy and I was going a couple of weeks later. I e mailed him and asked for suggestions on where to eat in Rome. He replied directly in about half an hour. I replied and we had a conversation going like two buddies would. Probably 4 messages each. I took a picture standing in front of the restaurant he recommended and it was wonderful and not overly expensive (Incredible wine list) and I emailed to him and again he replied. I have respect for people who are very busy who probably get lots of messages like mine and make the effort.

You are going off of I assume watching him on KZfaq solely and you may not have pegged him accurately. I would describe him as confident, that is different than arrogant, just my opinion. Cheers

I had the 40MM yacht master and loved it. Wore it as my main watch from 2000 to 2014. Everyone had a sub so this was a unique watch. I traded for a Daytona at an AD in 14 and got good value. I regret not keeping it.

I loved the Bond Omega watch, it was freaking awesome. I sold it because of the poor legibility. I just wish they could have done something to make it with brighter with phosphorus…. I tend to work in a cool dark den, so it is kind of on me. I appreciated the quality of Omegas for the first time. I will get another second hand Omega at some point.

I agree with the sentiment of this video and of Rogan's collecting. People who collect to impress will only end up disappointing themselves. People to collect out of enthusiasm for what they are collecting will consistently be satisfied with their passion. It can be Swatch, Hamilton, Longines, Omega, Rolex, AP, MB&F, vintage or modern releases. One has to be comfortable following their enthusiasm first. If we try to impress we will never be satisfied.

You made me like Joe Rogan more. I actually am blaming him for my watch enthusiasm. It was maybe 3 years ago, he had Matt Farah on the show who at least at that time was an avid Grand Seiko fan. I thought "that sounds like a watch i should wear, and what, Seiko, can't be more than couple hondos"... Since then i have done probably all the collection bingo items. Well i haven't been waiting for the call yet.

I know why joe Rogan had the silver yach master. His car collection is mostly comprised of all silver cars. Silver body and silver wheels.. it appears to be a look that he is into. Which is probably why he had this one piece. It matches his cars!

Good point. The Yachtmaster may not be the choicest Rolex but when you have money you can wear whatever you want no matter what the opinion of anyone. There's nothing to prove.

The yacht master case is different the lugs turn down its much more comfortable, and I have both just worried about scratching the bezel platinum is a bitch to replace

Yachtmaster bezel is bi-directional as well.. like a GMT. Where the submariner only turns one way.

The Zenith Daytonas are the ones to go after imop. A legendary watch with a legendary movement from Zenith. I like watches original not into modifications.The Seamaster is nice but that faux patina is to heavy for my personal taste.That's my only issue with the 300 series

The only thing you need to say to sell a yacht master is that yacht master is more like a daytona than a submariner. More classy. Better finish and fitting than a sub

I don’t know why those yacht masters get so much hate. I low key love the mid size yacht masters in yellow gold. And I believe they even came with ruby hour markers on some. The small versions are super cool.

The reason I don’t personally like the Yachtmaster is the fact that the numbers on the bezel are basically “the same color” as the bezel itself. I get that they are shiny, but it’s hard to see. If the numbers were black or white to contrast with the bezel, they would look so much better.

I'm going to buy silk pillow cases after watching you rave about Blissy. I also have the Yachtmaster & prefer to wear it more than my 7 other Rolexes on a daily basis. Although boring it's more versatile to wear with any outfit and I worry less about getting robbed. It's suited to someone who not only prefers stealth wealth but doesn't care what others think, who is free of insecurities, which is how a proper wealthy educated person should gear their mindset toward.

IDK what it is but I am an Omega man too. I have a Seamaster 300 pro and a Deville. My next watch will be a Speedmaster 1861. Joe is right Omega puts the work in IMO. Just love them. I also have a Seiko Presage Alpina and a Resco Hooper love all these watches.

I love the standard rhodium dial 40mm Yacht-Master with the raised bezel and I would love to have one. But still, who could not love the Yacht-Master II? I mean, it is the freaking Yacht-Master II. One might think it is ugly, but I see it at once as over the top and beautiful. And I love the useless egg timer. Just perfect.

I can appreciate the / an "anti-flex." I think for me it's simpler. If it's cool, if it resonates with me for some reason, I want it. Doesn't mean I can always afford it, but I'd still want it. If I was in Joe's financial situation, I couldn't build a collection around anti-flexing or stealth wealth, because there are some expensive watches that I love too much to be able to hold back, lol. But that also goes down the price point as well. Typically, I'm in the Omega/Rolex price point; a level where many people exist. But just yesterday I was ogling the hell out of a bunch of

I have a Yachmaster 126622 with the Rhodium dial and have had a 41mm Sub. They are absolutely not the same watch. The YM has the curved case of a Daytona and is far more beautiful. It's also more comfortable on the wrist. And it has the Triplock crown so it's likely that it's depth rating if far higher than the 100m Rolex states. Both it and my Batman have the Triplock so who knows what the ratings of these watches really are...

Agree, have the same pair, but a blue dial YM. wouldn’t hesitate to dive with the YM; the original Sum was 100m water resistant and more than enough for 98% of diving. And Rolex tests to at least 25% greater than listed.
