What if you get vaccines and then get Covid? Does getting Covid after vaccine increase chance of myocarditis even more???
@jareds5520
@jareds5520 2 жыл бұрын
The pathophysiology of COVID-19-related myocarditis is thought to be a combination of direct viral injury and cardiac damage due to the host’s immune response. I would think "direct viral injury" is a non-issue for the vaccine since you aren't actually getting infected with a replicating virus. Which leaves severity of immune response, which will typically be much lower following a vaccine, and would also be lower for a vaccinated person getting subsequently infected with covid because they already have established some immunity to the virus. Regardless, I see no reason to think that heart inflammation would be additive by first getting vaccinated and then getting a vaccine-inhibited covid infection.

This is probably the biggest problem with vaccine hesitancy. People get snippets of information that, by themselves, are frightening, but when put into context, show that getting vaccinated, is the lesser of two evils. Although I'm not a psychologist it seems like a very natural defense mechanism, because if you are presented with information that directly contradicts your existing beliefs then you would be very easily fooled if you automatically accepted it without treating the information with scepticism. It is relevant that all potential counter-arguments or problems with a piece of information may not be obvious to the recepient at first. By including dose 1 myocarditis stats, you are understating the risk. Second of all, if the vaccines don't prevent infection, this point becomes far less important. There is a better paper published in nature in December with more data, less biais that says the opposite of what Josh says… so may be Rogan not so wrong in his beliefs /understanding, just not a specialist that needs time and contradictory debate to firm up his mind. In this case, because he thought he might be wrong, he accepted the possibility of being wrong. True journalism would go beyond, search for more info especially the latest available and then ask experts of different opinions for their analysis. There has been tons of BS papers lately with a lot of cherry picking to prove one thing or the opposite. Data analysis is hard, especially when data is insufficient and of poor quality.

I feel kind of bad for him in way because he is just an average dude who likes working out and grilling meat at his core, but now he has to be like this leading voice of reason who can't offend anyone or take sides. I think he just needs to be careful, he is feeding into the extreme anti-vax echo-chamber more than I think he realizes or intends to and people will take what they want from that as reassurance that they are correct. I’m double vaxxed (not eligible for booster yet) but my question would be that since the vaccine doesn’t stop you contracting covid - it’s effect is to limit the severity of symptoms - is the comparison of risk of myocarditis from vaccine vs infection worthwhile? I say this because clearly you can be vaccinated AND contract covid. I’ll note that I have not researched whether the vaccine protects you from the potential of myocarditis as a result of covid infection - but I would doubt it does completely as vaccinated people still end up in hospital from covid (admittedly at much lower rates). So the vaccine isn’t blanket protection from symptomatic covid.

@@dh1148ify This is incorrect. There are legitimate studies that contradict what this guy is saying. There are also legitimate studies that support what he is saying. People seem to be unaware that contradicting studies are very common in the field of medicine, especially for new treatments & viruses. The logical thing to do is scrutinize each study and see what factors/variables could have lead to conflicting results with an open discussion. Then retest & continue to do so until the data consistently aligns with the hypothesis. The emotional thing to do is to make this a partisan issue & dismiss legitimate data just because it doesn’t align with the message your political party pushes. Medical treatments shouldn’t be a partisan issue. 90+% of the population has been brainwashed into believing they have to pick a side at one extreme or the other.

Are there any numbers about myocarditis resulting from breakthrough infections after a vaccination?
@loudencm
@loudencm 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, David….Rogan generally reevaluates his ideas. That is part of his popularity is that he doesn’t hide the fact that he is searching for what truth he can find from many different perspectives. And one big factor in this is he has such a wide variety of guests and he often has challenging conversations where he and his guest openly explore a point of disagreement in order to arrive at possibly new conclusion. It is a dialectic process. He talks to specialists and experts and journalists. Dr. Peter McCullough is more of an expert than Josh Szeps who is a journalist and the question of where your information is coming from is at the heart of how to weigh new information. A journalist saying “Hey, look here is an article about a study” may not carry as much weight in the moment as a doctor tell you something like “this is concerning”. He is allowed to be discerning and change his mind if he finds enough evidence to the contrary…. So, hey, man, something Rogan has that you don’t are guests and not all who agree with him. And that is part of his success. Get yourself back on his show…he’d probably be very open to it. Keep lying about him talking horse medicine….maybe he’ll bring you on. IDK.

@@rjlee818 if you could put a link to those studies…it would be helpful. And thank you for seeing my point. But to clarify it …much of science isn’t as conclusive as we like to think especially in the midst of an emerging event…that isn’t to say it isn’t ever conclusive but a healthy dose of questioning is necessary for the process to arrive at some approximation of the truth which can reach impressive level of precision much of the time. But often we are wading through many studies that say very different things…all most non-scientist like me or Rogan or for that matter Pakman can do is defer to expert opinions (which don’t always coincide), personal discretion (which is a very imperfect but personalized set of standards that resist quick, easy shifts of opinions) and due diligence (which is irregular or non existent at best for most normal people who don’t have time to sift through all information). It is a messy process and letting people go through it on their own without bad mouthing them is my MO. By the way, I watched this episode of Rogan and the the guest, Josh Szeps, has been on his show more than 6 times over the past year….Rogan is talking to him like a friend and kicking around ideas and questions…I think David is a little disingenuous in his presentation of the clip. And contrary to the “take that” culture created by our media…Joe even said that reflecting on that conversation he really wasn’t prepared to talk about that issue, which means he would have wanted to prepare better to have a more quality conversation and make better points….instead he improvised it and the results were mixed….which is refreshing to hear from people…the media never do that and instead they double down on whatever narrative they invested in…so we need more people like Rogan…stop shaming him because he doesn’t always have perfect knowledge or officially sanctioned opinions, he has a right to be that way. Nobody who is a fan of him consider him an expert on anything outside of comedy and MMA. And that is why people like him…he’s not pretentious and he has some amazing guests and conversations.

Exactly. I'm not a doctor, but it looks like they're trying to retrofit the recent (last one year) spike in myocarditis incidence to the disease starting two year ago, though the myocarditis cases came to the forefront a year later (starting early-mid 2021) shortly after a certain something came onto the scene.

@@Milkmans_Son I am being serious that it well COULD be the vaccine, but that possibility is not generally explored in the MSM. It's so heavily avoided (or else ridiculed or quickly dismissed) that it's hard for me to not suspect that it's at least possible that something more is going on that they don't want us (the public) to know. Am I certain? No. Do I have serious doubts we're being dealt with honestly by govt and media? Yes.

Probably because it’s a bullshit non peer reviewed study from some random website you got from google or your Facebook comments. Or they don’t allow links in their comments. Either way no one here cares about the anti vax propaganda here. Take your pro covid comments elsewhere
